The necessarytermistor cable is created using eXLinkreceptacles, which can be laid separatelyfrom the power cable, and aneXLink plug. This allows the operatorto separate the power and controlcircuit safely when performing maintenancework on a wall socket. There isno need for a time-consuming electricalde-installation/installation. The controlcircuit can also be created as an intrinsicallysafe circuit.Explosion-protected industrialvacuum cleanersAn extremely flexible power supplyis needed for apparatus that is usedat constantly changing sites. Until nowit was only possible to supply power toindustrial vacuum cleaners using large,conventional plugs and sockets. These heatingcircuits warm the filling hoses in orderto keep the product at temperatureduring the filling process. Operationshutdowns caused by heating failuresand the damage incurred by this can beavoided by simply replacing the heatingcircuits.Valve control unitsA major manufacturer of valve driveshas come up with an inexpensive solutionfor servicing and repairing valvecontrol units by installing eXLink.When servicing the valves, the usercan therefore not only save valuabletime but also the costs of connecting/disconnecting the electrical supply.Servicing gates and locksA manufacturer produces gates andlocks for the chemical industry. In thepast, an electrician always had to bepresent when they were being installedand serviced. Through the use ofeXLink, all necessary work can nowbe performed by the fitter, who isalready on site, thus allowing hugesavings. The manpower and time savedmean that eXLink will have paid foritself within a short time.Sensors in hazardous areasSensors in hazardous areas also haveto be cleaned, serviced and recalibratedat regular intervals. The use ofeXLink means that the sensor canbe taken out of the measuring circuitby simply unplugging the connectorunit. Isolation and disconnection atthe terminals are no longer necessary.The sensor can now be disassembled,cleaned, tested and reinstalled. In thecase of applications where time is acritical facto, a prepared replacementunit can also be used. The sensor isthen reconnected to the measuringcircuit by simply plugging it in. Thismethod can mean a considerable timesaving.Grounding indicators forfilling tanks safelyElectrostatics plays a major role whenfilling tanks and containers in thehazardous areas. The tanks and containersmust only be filled if a continuousearth connection is ensured. Thevarious earthing clamps are quicklyand safely connected to the groundingdevice using eXLink connections.An intrinsically safe distribution amplifierwith an Ex-d encapsulated contactordoes not activate the filling processuntil a continuous earth connectionhas been created, and disconnectsthe filling process immediately if theearth connection is bad or interrupted.Transportable drilling rigswith plug-in measuring circuitsAs the emission of potentially explosiveliquids or gases always has to be expectedwhen carrying out deep drillingoperations, drilling rigs are usuallyexplosion-protected.
