two Honors courses for spring ’08. Meet<br />

fellow Honors students from all four<br />

CCAC campuses and earn Honors credits.<br />

We look forward to sharing these<br />

enriching experiences with you. On-line<br />

registration is not possible for Honors<br />

classes; you must enroll on campus. Tuition<br />

reimbursement is <strong>of</strong>fered for both<br />

classes after successful completion.<br />

Exercise your creative spirit and earn Honors<br />

credits at the same time. We will meet<br />

on-line through Blackboard plus six<br />

Wednesday afternoons from 2:30-5:45<br />

a poetry slam and a Western PA<br />

Jessica and I just wanted to say that we had a blast meeting<br />

and hanging out with each one <strong>of</strong> you at the Honors Kick<strong>of</strong>f<br />

Picnic and at Chihuly’s Nights. It’s not too <strong>of</strong>ten that we<br />

have the opportunity do new and exciting things with our<br />

busy schedules.<br />

Don’t miss out on the combined Honors and Phi <strong>The</strong>ta<br />

Kappa seminar focusing on Gender and Power presented<br />

by Dr. Pepper Schwartz and discussion facilitated by South<br />

Campus Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Sociology, Bob Young. This event will<br />

take place on Thursday, November 8, at CCAC, Allegheny<br />

Campus from 6pm-8pm. Join us for this intriguing discussion<br />

including pizza and pop!<br />

We are excited about the Honors classes in spring 2008:<br />

Creative Writing and Leadership II. Honors Leadership is<br />

more than a class; it’s a chance to interact with students<br />

and faculty who are passionately invested in enhancing leadership<br />

skills.<br />

2007/2008 Leadership in Honors Scholars<br />

Get Your “Just for the h <strong>of</strong> it!” Honors T-Shirt<br />

At both the Honors Orientation Picnic in August and the Honors<br />

Leadership I seminar in October, we distributed Honors t-shirts<br />

and bookbags to those students in attendance. If you have not<br />

yet received your Honors t-shirt, please contact your Honors<br />

Campus Coordinator to arrange a time to pick up your t-shirt,<br />

hopefully before our next Honors t-shirt day. We ask all Honors<br />

students and faculty to wear their Honors t-shirts on Nov. 8 th in<br />

honor <strong>of</strong> our Honors Symposium on Gender.<br />

Leadership 1I Seminar (SDS105H-SC01)<br />

1 Honors credit. Held the weekend <strong>of</strong><br />

March 8 and 9, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on<br />

South Campus. Continue to develop your<br />

leadership potential. Analyze and apply the<br />

strategies we glean from great leaders as<br />

portrayed through literature, historical<br />

documents, and film. Topics include decision<br />

making, conflict management, team<br />

building, initiating change, and leading<br />

through service. Prerequisite: Honors<br />

Leadership I.
