Music in March:The Armed ManThe Armed Man featured soaring melodies, heartrendinglyrics and bombastic brass fanfares. The firsthalf of the concert saw the school’s orchestra andUpper Sixth Form soloists perform whilst the secondhalf combined the talents of Kent College girls, theirfamilies, staff and friends.Summer TermKC Musicians record atLivingstonIn the last week of term, theKC choir and orchestra spenta day recording in London atthe Livingston Studio 1, usuallygraced by artists such as JamieCullum, Muse, Bronski Beat,Bjork, and REM. The girls werechallenged with recording Vivaldi’s‘Gloria’ which they rose to superbly.PrepSchoolFolksongThe Prep SchoolOrchestra gavean impressiveperformance of aselection of folksongarrangements, followedby a few solos andthe flute ensemble.The Choir then sangwith great ‘gusto’the musical cantata‘Swingin’ Samson’,putting on colourfulwigs and headdressesfor the final number!Eco Green FlagFlies High at KCFollowing assessment in the last few weeks of term,we were delighted to have been awarded the EcoSchools Green Flag!
