Beliausebelum ini merupakan Naib Presiden diPETRONAS menerajui PerniagaanPetrokimia dari tahun 1999 hingga2002; Pengarah Urusan di PETRONASGas Bhd. dari tahun 1995 hingga 1999;Pengarah Urusan di MMC EngineeringGroup Bhd. dari tahun 1991 hingga1995. Beliau pernah menjawat pelbagaijawatan penting di Malaysia MiningCorporation Berhad dari tahun 1983hingga 1991 seperti Pengurus BesarPembangunan Perniagaan dan KetuaJurutera Elektrikal. Sebelum itu, beliaupernah berkhidmat dalam pelbagaikapasiti di Lembaga Letrik Negara daritahun 1969 hingga 1979 dan jugasebagai Jurutera Elektrik Kanan Kawasandi Pernas Charter ManagementSdn. Heholds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from Brighton College ofTechnology, UK (1969). He is a member of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia,Professional Engineer Malaysia and holds the Electrical Engineer Certificate ofCompetency Grade 1. He was formerly the Vice President of PETRONAS,heading the Petrochemical Business from 1999 to 2002; Managing Director ofPETRONAS Gas Bhd. from 1995 to 1999; Managing Director of MMCEngineering Group Berhad from 1991 to 1995 and had held several other keypositions in Malaysian Mining Corporation Berhad from 1983 to 1991 whichincludes the General Manager, Business Development and Chief ElectricalEngineer. Prior to that, he has served in various capacities in the NationalElectricity Board from 1969 to 1979 and also as a Senior Area ElectricalEngineer at Pernas Charter Management Sdn.
