Our church came VERYclose to DOUBLING the amount of backpacks that wedonated in 2012. Almost 90 packs were filled with schoolsupplies (and some gift cards) and will be given, through LFS, to therefugee and foster children in our area. THANKS to Tom, Linda &Jason Thede for helping with theorganizing, distributing andcoordinating the collection ofsupplies and backpacks! Therewill be many happy childrengetting an extra blessing for thestart of their school year, thanksto you!Food PantryDoing Life TogetherAugust ChallengeWe are inviting volunteersfrom our congregation totake part in food drives forTri-Lakes-Cares FoodPantry in Monument andHigh Plains-Helping HandsFood Pantry in Falcon.On Sunday, August 11, youcan pick up lists of neededitems for either pantry.Please return your donateditems in ordinary storeprovidedplastic bags, anddouble bag if cans, glass orother heavy items are in thebag.You can then distribute liststo your neighbors andfriends on a given day andreturn in a week to pickthem up. You can also justfill the need yourself!Thanks to Bob and PatJahla, who have againagreed to HEAD this effort,collect the donated itemsand deliver them to thefood pantries.
