Aloha kākou! Welcome to ICOM 2008! On behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 8th International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes (ICOM 2008) held in Honolulu, Hawai’i, from July 12-18, 2008. The scientific program consists of 3 plenary lectures by world-renowned membrane experts, and more than 800 papers will be presented at the oral and poster sessions, including 54 keynote lectures. Six full-day workshops on the first two days of the meeting are another highlight of the meeting. The social program includes an outdoor welcome reception and a banquet, which will both capture the beautiful spirit of the islands of Hawaii.
