Camp Colman is on CaseInlet in lower Puget Sound with more than 100densely forested acres, shoreline and a protectedsaltwater lagoon.Both camps combine fun outdoor experiences withage-appropriate activities based on the values ofrespect, responsibility, honesty and caring. The dailyrhythm of camp has plenty of room for choice andcreativity, so that campers can follow their interestsand strive for their personal best. At the same time,kids grow and thrive as cabin groups and as a campcommunity. Counselors are experienced andenthusiastic about helping kids adapt to and enjoythe overnight experience.Outdoor adventures and healthy livingin natureOvernight campers explore nature, learn newskills, make new friends and gain respect for theenvironment. Depending on the camp, activitiesinclude: beach walks, horseback riding, swimming,canoeing, kayaking, sailing, biking, archery, artsand crafts, skateboarding, marine biology,challenge courses, a climbing wall, the giant swing,a zipline and evening campfires. Activities aretailored by age and follow the challenge by choicephilosophy of campers choosing their own level ofcomfort as they participate.Skilled, dedicated and friendly staffThe YMCA chooses camp staff carefully fromcolleges and universities around the world. Theyare screened and interviewed for leadershipqualities, enthusiasm, diversity and strongcharacter.
