ActivitiesTrainee SurveyorsA Board registered Training Agreement provides a structured program to develop professional competence and issupervised by an experienced Licensed Surveyor. Licensing and Registration of SurveyorsThe Board provides two types of qualification. A Certificate of Competency in Surveying is issued to surveyors whosatisfy the Board as to their competency in a broad range of surveying activities. These surveyors are known asRegistered Surveyors. An additional Certificate of Competency in Cadastral Surveying is issued to RegisteredSurveyors who also possess specialised competency in cadastral surveying. These surveyors are authorised tocarry out title boundary surveys and are known as Licensed Surveyors.During the year the following amendments were made to the Register of Surveyors:• 10 Trainees became Licensed Surveyors (ie Registered with Cadastral Endorsement) following the completionof registered Training Agreements: Mr John Podolczak, Ms Gabrielle McCarthy, Mr Colin Hall, Mr RobertSignorini, Mr Glenn Collins, Mr John Muldowney, Mr Simon Cox, Mr Geoffrey Forster, Mr Scott Wyllie and MrPaul Dwyer.• 2 Trainees became Registered Surveyors (ie without Cadastral Endorsement): Mr Peter Brown and MrMalcolm McDonald.• 3 Surveyors from other jurisdictions obtained their Victorian Licences under the Mutual Recognitionarrangements between the Reciprocating Surveyors Boards of Australia and New Zealand (RSBANZ): Mr MarkCleary, Mr David Silcock and Mr Philip Atkinson.On 30 June 2001 there were:• 1020 Surveyors Registered with Cadastral Endorsement• 15 without Cadastral Endorsement.Letters of AccreditationTwo Letters of Accreditation were issued to Victorian Licensed Surveyors to enable them to seek registration inreciprocating jurisdictions.Surveyors Board of Victoria 2000-2001 Annual Report 6
