Prioritisation and risk analysis35. There are nearly 2,000 non-native species established in GB, approximately 300 ofwhich have known adverse impacts, and more will arrive and have an impact infuture. Without limitless resources, it is essential to set priorities for achieving thegreatest benefit.36. In GB risk assessments are used to help prioritise effort, and our methods of riskanalysis are probably the most advanced in the EU.The GB Non-native Risk Assessment (RA) process37. However, the assessment process continues to evolve and there are still a numberof areas that can and should be improved:o although the process has produced more than 60 assessments since itsinception (with 40+ additional assessments in progress), individualassessments can take a long time to be completed;23
