Each districtoffers a variety of school programs, including magnet andcharter schools with specialized programs of study.Charleston County School District is the largest, servingsome 43,000 students countywide. Students living in thecity of Charleston, North Charleston and Mount Pleasant allattend Charleston County schools as well as those on JamesIsland, Johns Island and Sullivan’s Island.Berkeley County School District serves more than 30,000students in 40 schools that span the vast county. Studentsin such areas as Goose Creek, Hanahan, Daniel Island andMoncks Corner attend these schools.Dorchester County is divided into two districts.
