AMONGSTWOMENBrian Friel’s most famous play, Dancing at Lughnasa, is dedicated“to the memory of those five brave Glenties women”, who were,in reality, Friel’s mother and his four aunts. And so at the heart ofBelfast, Here I Come! is Amongst Women, a series of talks &discussions involving women who are working across a range ofdisciplines. It’s a celebration of achievement, in contrast to thesocial/economic oppression of the women in the play (and in reallife). It will also reflect the challenges and obstacles that still existfor women today.TALKS & DISCUSSIONSHOW TO DO IT LIKE A WOMAN:CAROLINE CRIADO-PEREzElmwood HallThursday 27 August7.30pm | £10/£8 | 75 minsJoin one of the most tenacious campaigners of hergeneration to discuss her story of campaigning forwomen’s rights and dealing with cyber backlash aswell as introducing us to some of the mostpioneering women campaigners across the globe.Caroline Criado-Perez took on the Bank of England,Twitter and the criminal justice system.
