The Story is Remembered and the Bread and Cup are SharedAn Open Table! At Rocky Hill Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, we believethat the table is not ours, but Christ’s. Therefore, anyone, including children, wishing toknow the presence of Christ and the community of God’s people is welcome to receive,regardless of your denominational affiliation, church membership or where you are on yourfaith journey. This is a joyful feast for all the people of God!This morning we will receive communion by intinction. All are invited to come forward by thecenter aisle to receive the elements. Please take a piece of bread and dip it into the cup of nonalcoholicgrape juice. Gluten free bread and cup are available. All those who are unable to comeforward, but wish to receive communion, should identify themselves to a deacon by raising theirhand, and they will be served by the pastors.Prayer of Thanksgiving (unison)Creating God, may the presence and power of Jesus Christ, which wehave received through this holy meal, give us renewed strength andhope. Help us use these gifts in all we do and say so that a new world ofjustice and joy will come. Through Christ we make our prayer. Amen.The Practice of PeaceWe practice sharing Christ’s peace with one another as a sign of reconciliation and love. It isnot simply our peace, but the peace of Christ that we offer. The peace may be shared with ahandshake, embrace, or a non-contact gesture. Please respect the wishes of those with whom youexchange the peace.
