Communication of responses to matters raised may take various forms, but the
recommended approach is via the School website or VLE and discussed at Student
Staff Liaison Committee meetings.
Feedback to students should be overseen by the appropriate committee in each
College.
Service units have a responsibility to communicate back to their key customer groups
highlights and actions arising from customer feedback (the “you said – we did or did
not” approach)
Reviews
Student views are gathered as part of the University’s internal subject and student
support service reviews. For internal subject review, mechanisms for gathering
student feedback prior to the review are detailed in the guidance issued annual by
Academic Services, available at http://www.ed.ac.uk/schools-departments/academicservices/quality-unit/quality-assurance/internal-review.
For student support service
reviews, a reflection on feedback from students forms part of the annual report
template.

Student Representation System
The University’s student representation provides multiple opportunities for the student
voice to be heard, including class and school representation, School Councils, EUSA
Postgraduate, and election campaigns. More information is available on the EUSA
website at http://www.eusa.ed.ac.uk/democracy-and-campaigns/ and
http://www.eusa.ed.ac.uk/representation/classreps/
There are a very wide range of other mechanisms in Schools.
