In FY 2011, the marketing team continued to
upgrade the content on the Texas Wide Open
for Business website. Upgrades make the site
more intuitive for site selectors, companies, and
communities seeking business data. The website
provides information and links needed for anyone
considering doing business in Texas. The site
includes state incentives, Texas achievements,
new company location announcements, marketing
resources for Texas community economic
developers, and an interactive map that allows
users to explore various infrastructure resources
to narrow site searches.
On January 1, 2012, the Texas Wide Open for
Business website will launch a major redesign
to help address needs that have been identified
through feedback from companies and consultants
throughout the year.
Texas Site Search
www.texassitesearch.com
The Texas Site Search website is an innovative
online state-level GIS mapping program designed
to aid companies and consultants researching
Texas as a possible expansion or relocation site.
The site is a free service to Texas communities
looking to gain more exposure through property
listings and is an additional online portal for
communities already hosting localized GIS-based
services.
Website tools include detailed available property
listings, custom downloadable reports, links to
local economic development sites, state incentive
programs, and industry maps.
The TexasOne℠ Twitter and Texas Wide Open for Business Facebook pages allow followers to
gather up-to-date information on the Texas economy. In FY 2012, the marketing team will continue
to distribute news items to constituents through online social networks. Updates include Texas
brags, job creation announcements, and TEF and ETF award announcements.
