Last week we celebrated<br />
Matariki 2015 here with<br />
our tamariki. Our tamariki<br />
rotated around a number<br />
of modules learning and<br />
participating in Matariki<br />
based activities. They<br />
were able to recreate the Matariki constellation<br />
using a few different mediums, baked<br />
yummy whetu biscuits, mosaic manutukutuku,<br />
made dough boys and played string<br />
games. They were also treated to an awesome<br />
boil-up lunch which included their own personally<br />
made dough boys and delicious fried<br />
bread thanks to aunty Ngaroimata Campbell.<br />

SUPER 5’S<br />
Te mutunga mai o te pai to our Super 5 teams<br />
who played in Paengaroa on Tuesday 30th<br />
July. Our boys won the rugby for the 2nd<br />
consecutive year and our girls placed 4th<br />
overall. Fantastic effort tamariki ma! The<br />
trophy will remain in our cabinet for another<br />
year. A special mention to Rangiatea Royal-<br />
Hikatangata who was awarded player of the<br />
day.<br />
Te Kura O Maketu<br />
MAKETU GIRLS GROUP<br />
Maketu Girls Group A.K.A Kiris Girls Group<br />
(KGG) celebrated their final term two group<br />
lesson last Wednesday. The girls have learnt<br />
cooking and measurement skills, made stress<br />
balls (play dough) and have recently made<br />
path planning cylinders ready for term 3 to<br />
keep their future path plans inside.<br />
TERM DATES<br />
This is our last week for term two whanau<br />
ma. We are then on holidays for two weeks<br />
and return to kura all refreshed on Monday<br />
July 20th.<br />
