HAPPY 2013!
May, 2013 will mark the beginning of
my fifteenth year of CVR membership.
It seems like just yesterday I was in the
green Driver’s Ed run group, on-track
at Watkins Glen for my first time ever,
with one of CVR’s great DE Instructors!
Green run group? President? How did
this happen? Because right from that
very first event at Watkins Glen I was
so impressed with the people I met and
so intrigued by the concept that all this

to be a part of it.
Over the past fourteen years, I’ve
worked the Drivers’ Ed Tech-line, worked
in DE Control, served as a Track Steward,
a DE Instructor, and had the privilege
of being Chief Instructor for two years.
I also served as a Program V.P., parked
cars at Porscheplatz, served on various
committees, and most recently, served
as Club Race Director for three years.
But don’t think that it was all work and
no play; more like all play and no work.
I’ve had a blast driving countless number
of DE track days in Connecticut, New
York, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania,
and Canada. I also enjoyed Club Racing
for a number of years, making friends
from many other regions and from
National PCA.
And I’ve had many great laughs
and made many close friends working
side- by-side with fellow members at
all manner of events over the years.
Whew!! I must say, time does fly when
you’re engaged and having fun; and I

Even though we are still in the grips
of winter, as a track and motorsports
enthusiast, I have always viewed February
as the time to sort out our cars for the
coming driving season, and to take
comfort in knowing we are turning the
corner towards spring. The professional
motorsport season already kicked off in
late January. By the time you read this
article, the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona
will be behind us, hopefully with one or
more of the Porsche 911 GT3 entries
taking to the podium. And the first PCA
Club Race of the year at Sebring will be
underway. Up next is 12 Hours of Sebring
on March 16th, which will be the final
running of this event as part of the
