Ore hoisting is done from a depth of 1,080 m at a
capacity of 250 t/h; the layout includes reserves for
a later mine extension which is planned for a depth of
1,500 m with the same hoisting capacity. This skip/
counterweight installation has a payload of 19.5 t with a
volume of 12 m³ (density of hoisting material 1.65 t/m³).
The hoisting speed is rated at 12 m/s in the production
operation. The Drâa Lasfar mine mainly hoists copper and
zinc ores.
In the hoisting installation of Shaft III, SIEMAG TECBERG
incorporated its completely new developed speed
controller, type STB-SC01, which is authorized by the
German mining authorities under number F-24/10/1
in accordance with the BVOS regulations. The speed
controller function is an integral component of SIEMAG
TECBERG’s control for hoists and sinking machines.
This speed controller may equally be applied for Koepe
and drum hoists. The only difference is in the control
and monitoring software. The encoders, shaft switches
as well as the hardware remain unchanged in case of
refurbishments.
The control system mainly consists of the
following components:
▪▪
two programmable logic controllers, type Simatic
S7-400, with different CPU types
▪▪
two freely programmable positioning controllers,
type SIMOTION C240-2
▪▪
two PCs with LCD monitors and the visualization
software WinCC-flexible
as well as the distributed and centralized I/O assigned
to each control section and the redundant encoders.
The controller programme was developed and checked
to a very large extent on SIEMAG TECBERG’s own test
unit. Therefore, it was possible to cut the commissioning
period, including the test runs, for the sinking operation
and monitoring of current CMG operations to a total of
about two months.
Furthermore, a telemonitoring module was incorporated
in the machine controller system which provides for a
worldwide reading access into the controller system.
Should any failures occur, this module serves to
communicate fault analysis, modifications or complements
to the operator at short notice.
Commissioning for the production operation is
accomplished. At present, SIEMAG TECBERG experts are
optimizing the production process.
