David Lebus has a special reason for running for Wellbeing of
Women in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon – his mother.
His mum, Christina, was the director of Wellbeing (as was) from
1997-1999, she was fiercely proud of the charity and even in the
short time she was director, made a big difference to its success.
Sadly in 1999 she became very ill and died.
David says “She cared hugely about the charity and what they
were trying to achieve. It was a great frustration to her that
being ill stopped her from carrying on the work that she so
enjoyed and felt so strongly about. I want to raise money for
WoW, not just in memory of Mum, but also as a thank you for
the motivation and the inspiration that her memory provides
every day, whether I’m running a marathon or not.

Gary is running the marathon as a 'T' bag. Gary's wife is fantastic
with making her own clothes and is going to be making Gary's
costume after he sourced some suitable material. Gary will be
running around his local streets to get some further support and
raise awareness.
