If you find you are
struggling to cope in
your home due to a
disability or illness we
are here to help.
Our specialist disability
officers can help you to
remain independent in
your home. This service
is available to West Kent
Housing Association
tenants and residents.
You may be struggling with
the steps leading to your front
door or be finding it hard to
manage the stairs, whatever the
problem we’re here to
help you.
It may mean we can help you
access some funding through
the local council to help make
changes to your home or we
may be able to help you find
alternative accommodation
more suitable for your needs.
Whatever our recommendations,
we will listen to you and take
into account your needs.
If you are able to get funding for
essential work, we will ensure
our partnering contractors
complete the work to a high
standard and make sure you get
what you need to enable you to
stay in your home.
The Occupational Therapy
service will ask an Occupational
Therapist to visit you to assess
your living arrangements and
recommend funding for any
work that may need to be done.
How long will it take?
It all depends on the complexity
of the work. After we receive
the Occupational Therapist’s
recommendations, simple grab
rails can be completed within a
few days while more specialist
work, like a flush floor shower,
can take some weeks to
complete.
