OUR MINISTRY
t is evident that these words of Francis are a lived reality throughout the member organizations of Sylvania Franciscan Health.
Touching lives at a time of joy, vulnerability or crisis is truly part of the daily work of each person ministering in our hospitals,
long term care facilities, independent senior housing locations, our counseling center and the long term shelter for victims of
domestic violence.
Reaching out to those in need, whether these are patients, clients, family members or co-workers, is truly showing respect for
the individual, bringing peace to that person or situation, and demonstrating a compassionate presence to all.
In visiting some of our sponsored ministries, in speaking with various members of our organization and in reading about the accomplishments
and endeavors in our diverse locations in our quarterly publications, the mission to serve, to reverence others and to be good stewards of
resources is exemplified over and over. These specific actions clearly preach the Gospel of love and compassion.
The state of our world and the future of healthcare can cause concern as we look to the months and years ahead. However, we believe that
God is with us and walks with us each moment of our day. Confident in God’s care, we know that in working together, Embracing Excellence ...
Embracing the Future, we will be able to continue the mission of the Sisters of St. Francis through the ministry of Sylvania Franciscan
Health. We will continue to touch lives, not so much through our words, but through our actions of Reverence, Service and Stewardship.
And so, we preach the Gospel at all times … using words only when necessary.
