General Installation Tips
When specifying a system for an appliance the following should be considered:
• The internal diameter of the flue system should not be less than that specified by the appliance manufacturer.
• The minimum recommended height for any solid fuel system is 4.5 metres from the top of the appliance.
• The position of the flue terminal on the roof must comply with building regulations.
• No joint should occur within any floor, ceiling or wall space.
• Where a PD System passes through a floor or ceiling a ventilated firestop must be fitted to maintain clearances to
combustible materials.
• The connection to a twin wall system must be in the same room as the applicance and must protrude a minimum of
150mm from any combustible material.
• The system should be supported along its vertical length.
• Provision must be made to clean and inspect the flue.
Contents
• Each joint on single wall must be sealed with fire cement, each joint on twin wall must be fitted with the crimped end
facing downwards and secured using the locking bands provided.
• The points listed above are only a guide to the correct installation of a PD Chimney System.
The fitting of all chimney systems should comply with local building regulations.
Warranty
All PD Flue components carry a conditional Warranty offering complete peace of mind.
• Single Wall Vitreous Enamel components carry a 1 year conditional warranty.
• Twin Wall Stainless Steel components carry a 10 year conditional warranty.
• Flexible Flue Liners and their components carry the following conditional warranty.
• Multifuel 316, 15 year conditional warranty.
• Multifuel 904, 30 year conditional warranty.
• Gas & Oil, 10 year conditional warranty.
The PD warranty covers any defect due to faulty manufacture provided that the system has been correctly specified and
installed, used and maintained in accordance with the Installation and user instructions. In order to keep the warranty on
your chimney system it needs to be maintained
and/or swept annually by an approved chimney sweep and a signed record of this needs to be kept. Also in the case of
solid fuel installations your PD Chimney System must only be used with fuels approved or specified by either HETAS or the
Solid Fuel Association. The use of any other types of fuel will invalidate the warranty. Any chimney fire will also invalidate
the warranty and it is always advisable to replace the system following a chimney fire.
