RULES & CONDITIONS FOR FOX LEA FARM WINTER CIRCUIT SHOWS APPROVAL: All Winter Circuit shows are approved by The American Quarter Horse Association and are also approved by The Florida Quarter Horse Association. All classes will be conducted in accordance with the current rules of the American Quarter Horse Association. ENTRY FEES: Please see Fee Page. STALLS: There are 255 permanent stalls in Venice in Horse Barns and Vinyl stalls in tents or covered arena. ALL STALLS ARE RESERVED ONLY WITH YOUR CHECK FOR FULL PAYMENT. DO NOT SEND OPEN CHECKS. NO REFUND FOR STALLS FOR ANY REASON AFTER DECEMBER 20, 2013. All horses on the grounds, showing OR non-showing must be registered at the office and must have a number issued. All non showing horses being ridden, schooled, led, or otherwise handled, must display number issued by office. HEALTH REGULATIONS: All horses must travel with Original or Notarized copy of negative Coggins test dated within 12 months. Additionally, OUT-OF-STATE HORSES must travel with a Health Certificate less than 30 days old. State is strict on Coggins and Health Certificate Requirements. PLEASE DO NOT MAIL COGGINS TEST WITH YOUR ENTRY. FOR INTER-STATE TRAVEL, PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR VETERNARIAN FOR INDIVIDUAL STATE REQUIREMENTS. AWARDS: Circuit Champion Awards will be presented for each class (with a minimum of three entries). Horse must compete in each show in each series to be eligible for that Championship. Co-Champions will be awarded. There will also be All Around Awards for leading horses. Ties for All Around will be broken using a tie breaker judge. In all cases the tie breaker judge is judge “A”. All around horses must have competed in at least three divisions as defined by AQHA. All CIRCUIT points will be as follows: 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1, If there are less than nine horses in the class, the winners will receive one more point than the number of horses placed above. A horse and rider must compete in at least a simple majority of the shows of that circuit for Circuit All Around. STAKES CLASSES: will be scored using same point system as High Point Awards, using all scores of each judge, 9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1, If less than nine horses in the class, winners will receive one more point than the number of horses placed above. EXHIBITORS: Must possess a current AQHA membership card, whether it be an Amateur, Youth, Novice Youth, Novice Amateur or Open card. Cards may be purchased in the show office. JUDGES: All requests to a judge for his or her opinion must be made through Show Management. No exceptions. DISCOURTESY: An act of discourtesy to a judge or any other Show Official on the part of an owner, rider, trainer, or groom will be cause for immediate disqualification of any horse or horses with which they are associated and entry fees for such horse(s) will be forfeited. RESPONSIBILITY: Fox Lea Farm & Edmondson Management, Inc. their officials and employees will not be responsible for any accident, loss, damage, or injury which may occur to or be suffered by any exhibitor, spectator, guest, rider, groom, attendant, or other employee, animal or equipment at any of these shows: Nor will they be responsible for property of any kind or nature that may be lost, destroyed, or stolen, whether or not such loss, damage or injury is the result of negligence of Fox Lea Farm, or Edmondson Management, Inc. 22
PERFORMANCE HALTER: will be offered at every show in every circuit. Horse must have proof of earning an official AQHA ROM, either AQHA Certificate or printout of AQHA Performance Record showing date ROM was earned. FOX LEA CAFE: Will be open (pre-show days) January 7& 8, 2013 from 8:30 am – 5 pm . Open 1 hour before the start of the show each day. Open during show hours. SHOW OFFICE: Will be open (pre-show days) January 7 & 8, 2013 from 9 am – 5 pm. Please come pick up a schedule and entry forms. Show office is open on show days during show hours. HAY AND FEED SALES: Ballard’s Feed Supply (941) 488-5521 Will Deliver. Directions: Turn Left From Fox Lea Drive Onto Auburn Rd. Turn Left On E. Venice Avenue. Go Past Jacaranda, Proceed To Havana Rd. Turn Left On Havana. Ballard’s Is At The End Of The Road On The Left Hand side. GOLF CART RENTAL: Please see Casey in Show Office or contact at (941) 809- 6361. Reservations suggested. EVENING FACILITY EMERGENCY ONLY: First Try (941) 237-8136, Second Try (941) 809-6365, Third Try (941) 809-6361 Please be sure to speak with someone, as messages are checked periodically. NON-SHOW HORSES: All Non-Show Horses must have an exhibitor number and signed entry form to be on the show grounds. MEDICAL WASTES: Dispose of medical waste in labeled containers at wash racks. Please use aseptic techniques for your safety and Fox Lea Farm’s employees’ safety. Please call (941) 809-6361 if a new container is needed for your location. GOLF CARTS AND MOPEDS: All golf carts and mopeds on the show grounds must be driven by only those having a valid state driver’s license. All liability associated with any and all golf carts or mopeds is owned by the cart(s) or moped(s) driver and the cart(s) or moped(S) owner or cart(s) or moped(s) lessees. TRASH: All trash must be put in trash cans provided. DO NOT put any trash in the manure bins. All MANURE must be put into provided manure bins. SAFETY ISSUES: No campfires or barbecues are allowed. NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED IN OR NEAR ANY BARNS! Ample room must be left around the barns for emergency vehicles to pass. Do not block passage for everyone’s safety. PET RESTRICTIONS: Pets must be controlled by leashes or kenneled at all times. A $25 fine may be charged to owners of pets not controlled in such manners. Additionally, owners of pets who interfere with the performance of a competitor will be charged the entry fee of the class in question. HELP KEEP THE HORSES SAFE FROM FIRE, PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES BELOW: ELECTRICAL CORDS: All electrical extension cords used at the barns, must be certified for”outdoor use only”. This is for the safety of all competitors and animals, in case of fire. HORSE LIGHTS: The use of horse lights must comply with the use of florescent bulbs only. This is a safety precaution to avoid fires at the barns. Bulbs are available to purchase at local Home Depot or Lowe’s Store. THANK YOU FOR JOINING US AT THE FOX LEA FARM WINTER CIRCUIT.
