invited to join Fast FWD
(Fast Forward) in its crusade
against breast cancer.
Fast FWD is a
women’s fitness group
that comes together once
a week to work out and
empower each other
through health and fitness.
They are dedicated
to becoming the best
versions of themselves
through the promotion of
health and fitness.
Inspiring girls in business

small business coach
Jennifer Myers is asking
the community’s backing
for her plans to
inspire young female
would-be entrepreneurs.
Ms Myers entered the
AMP Do Your Thing
competition with hopes
to secure funding for
coaching
and
empowering 13 to17-yearolds
to entrepreneurial
success.
Up against 266 other
entrants, winning the
$10,000 scholarship
would allow Ms Myers
the opportunity to
empower young women.
“That time of life is
where you’ve got all
these thoughts in your
head of who you’d like to
be,” Ms Myers said.
Ms Myers plans to
hold one-day workshops
in Hamilton, Auckland,
Wellington, Christchurch
and Dunedin.
The girls will be
chosen to attend based
on a brief piece of
writing submitted on a
selected topic.

workshops, 50 to 100 girls

New Zealand Breast Cancer
Foundation to help
fund vital research projects
and support recovering
from and living
with breast cancer.

games will sharpen their
entrepreneurial skills.

in your life that you care
about, would this be
something you’d like to
see them go through?”
Ms Myers plans to
have the workshops up
and running by April/
May 2016.
And, even if she does
not receive the scholarship,
she plans to
implement the
workshops in Hamilton.
The funding would
allow her to use her
networks to reach the
wider community of
young women nationwide.
