Harvey Wallbanger
This drink could have been created as one of those "all I got in the bar" drinks. Supposedly, the
host of a party in the mid 60's had only vodka, orange juice and Galliano available. After a
couple of these drinks a guest named Harvey was found to be banging his head against the wall
and cursing the drink that caused him his misery. As such, the Harvey Wallbanger was born and,
of course, that is just one story.
Ingredients

3/4 ounce vodka
1 1/2 ounces orange juice
Preparation
1. Pour the vodka and orange juice into a Collins glass with ice cubes.
The real history of the Harvey Wallbanger
The Harvey Wallbanger is reported to have been invented in 1952 by three-time world champion
mixologist Donato 'Duke' Antone (Paolantonio). The Harvey Wallbanger was brought to
international prominence by then Galliano salesman, George Bednar. Legend has it that the drink
was named after a Manhattan Beach surfer who was a regular patron of Duke's 'Blackwatch' Bar
on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood during the early 1950s.
