Commencement Day Prizes<br />
Non-scholastic prizes are awarded to members of the student body who, during their years at Saint<br />
James made noteworthy contributions to the life of the School, or who have exhibited outstanding<br />
qualities of leadership and characteristics such as integrity, cooperation, loyalty, and seriousness of<br />
purpose. Most prizes are awarded on the basis of a two-thirds vote by the faculty.<br />
The Onderdonk Headmasters’<br />
Prize, endowed by Mr. and Mrs.<br />
Richardson Onderdonk, class<br />
of 1935, in memory of Henry<br />
Onderdonk, headmaster of Saint<br />
James School from 1869-1895 and<br />
Adrian Onderdonk, headmaster from<br />
1903-1939, is awarded to a member<br />
of the Fifth or Sixth Form who has<br />
served the wider community beyond<br />
Saint James School well beyond the<br />
School’s expectation or requirement.<br />

The G. Dudley Acker Award is<br />
awarded to a Fifth or Sixth Form<br />

personal integrity. The award was<br />
