Four Steps to Become Certified Gluten-Free by the<br />

Gluten-Free Certification Organization (<strong>GFCO</strong>):<br />

1. Complete the Application for all products or facilities to be considered<br />

for certification.<br />

2. Upon review of the application, you will receive a quote for certification<br />

and audit expenses.<br />

a. Audit expenses (estimated inspection and travel) are due before<br />

audit is scheduled.<br />

b. Annual certification fee is based on risk assessment of<br />

ingredients, manufacturing plant and a number of other factors.<br />

<strong>GFCO</strong> does not assess fees per UPC or unit certified.<br />

3. A <strong>GFCO</strong> Auditor will conduct an initial visit of the facility to observe<br />

the operations and determine feasibility of certification.<br />

4. A contract is prepared for your company. When accepted, signed and<br />

returned to the <strong>GFCO</strong>, a certificate is sent.<br />
