A very hot afternoon, a lion dozing in a cold, dark cave. I was
going to sleep at all when a mouse began to scamper on his
snout. With an angry roar, the lion lifted his leg and crushed the
mouse on the floor.
you How dare you wake me? Te-I growled to espachurrar.
Oh, please, please forgive me
life shrieked the terrified mouse-promise someday help if you let
me go.
You want to tease me? said the Lion. How could a birrioso little
mouse like you help a lion big and strong like me?
the lion and the Mouse
the lion and the Mouse
He laughed heartily. He laughed while in an oversight slid his
paw and mouse escaped.
A few days later the lion went hunting through the jungle. I was
just thinking about your next meal when he tripped over a rope
stretched across the path. A huge network overtook him and, for
all his strength, failed to break free. The more he fidgeted and
squirmed, more and more tangled network tightened around him.
The lion began to roar so loud that all animals heard him as their
roars came to the very ends of the jungle. One of these animals
was the ratonállo, who was gnawing on a grain of corn. He
released immediately grain and ran to the lion.
Oh, mighty lion! she screamed If you did me a favor and stand
still for a while, I could help you escape.
The lion felt so exhausted and lay there watching the mouse
gnawed the ropes of the net. I could hardly believe it when, after
a while, realized he was free.
'I saved his life, -di¡o- ratónenle. I'll never make fun of the
promises made by the young friends.
