However, ”as if” evaluations are not considered valid measures. I chose to work with her because I wanted to determine if EFT could cut though the medication and restore her affect. It did and I was elated. As we approached the third session, her face started to come alive, she was able to converse better and offer more clarity about her experiences. There was actually a glimmer of a smile emerging. Interestingly enough, her PCL-M score after the third session went up to 40. Her explanation was that she was remembering more stuff that had happened. I did not do an “as if” measure to determine what her scores would have been at this point.
