will take place <strong>in</strong><br />

of Women’s<br />
Month.<br />
T h i s<br />
happens less<br />
than three weeks<br />
of host<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />
prestigious Aspirant Young Farmer of Year<br />
<strong>Awards</strong>. <strong>The</strong> aim <strong>is</strong> to <strong>in</strong>spire women to<br />
develop <strong>in</strong>terest <strong>in</strong> agriculture <strong>and</strong> support<br />
<strong>the</strong> ex<strong>is</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g projects led by women <strong>in</strong><br />
agriculture.<br />
Nom<strong>in</strong>ees who won <strong>the</strong> competition <strong>in</strong><br />
four categories of Best Female Worker,<br />
Subs<strong>is</strong>tence, Small Holder <strong>and</strong> Commercial<br />
UPCOMING EVENTS<br />
withsecond prizes rang<strong>in</strong>g from R3000 to<br />
R5000 were:<br />

· Subs<strong>is</strong>tence – 1st prize – Hanese<br />

3rd prize – Mosaso; <strong>and</strong><br />
· For Commercial, <strong>the</strong> prize went to<br />

In her keynote address, Molemole<br />
Municipality Mayor, Ms Paul<strong>in</strong>a Makgatho<br />
thanked participants. She said <strong>in</strong> agriculture<br />
<strong>the</strong>y have not gone wrong because <strong>the</strong><br />
economy <strong>in</strong> Limpopo heavily depends on<br />
agriculture. She said women farmers should<br />
hold on to farm<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>dicated that<br />
Molemole Municipality would allocate<br />
tractors to some of <strong>the</strong>m.
