Tolerancijos centras – didžiausias Valstybinio<br />
Vilniaus Gaono <strong>žydų</strong> muziejaus<br />
padalinys, įsikūręs buvusiame <strong>žydų</strong> teatre.<br />
Centre ne tik eksponuojamos nuolatinės<br />
<strong>ir</strong> laikinos su litvakų istorija bei<br />
kultūra susijusios parodos, rengiamos<br />
konferencijos, paskaitos, filmų peržiūros,<br />
koncertai, edukacinės programos.<br />
Nuolatinė ekspozicija iš muziejaus fondų<br />
„Dingęs pasaulis“ pasakoja apie Lietuvos<br />
<strong>žydų</strong> kultūrą <strong>ir</strong> meną. Ekspozicija<br />
„Išsigelbėjęs Lietuvos <strong>žydų</strong> vaikas pasakoja<br />
apie Šoa“ – tai 48 Holokaustą išgyvenusių<br />
<strong>ir</strong> išgelbėtų <strong>žydų</strong> vaikų istorijos,<br />
gausiai iliustruotos fotografijomis<br />
iš asmeninių archyvų, vaizdo interviu.<br />
Tolerancijos centro misija – prisidėti prie<br />
unikalaus litvakų kultūrinio, meninio <strong>ir</strong> istorinio<br />
palikimo sklaidos, visuomenės pagarbos<br />
tautinių mažumų kultūroms ugdymo,<br />
šitaip skleidžiant tolerancijos idėjas.<br />
The Tolerance Center is the largest division<br />
of the Vilna Gaon Jewish State<br />
Museum. Located in the former Jewish<br />
Theater. The center displays permanent<br />
and temporary exhibitions related<br />
to Litvak history and culture, and<br />
also holds conferences, lectures, film<br />
screenings, concerts and educational<br />
programs.<br />
The permanent “Lost World” exhibition<br />
tells about the culture and art of the<br />
Lithuanian Jews. Another exhibition<br />
entitled “A Rescued Lithuanian Jewish<br />
Child Tells about the Shoah” relates<br />
the stories of 48 Jewish children who<br />
survived the Holocaust; the stories<br />
are richly illustrated with photographs<br />
from personal archives and video interviews.<br />
The mission of the Tolerance Center<br />
is to contribute to the dissemination<br />
of the Litvaks’ unique cultural, artistic<br />
and historical heritage and the cultivation<br />
of public respect for the cultures<br />
of ethnic minorities, thus propagating<br />
the ideas of tolerance.<br />
