2012 Aiming Higher For A Healthier Oklahoma Spouse/Adult Children (16-18) Program JOIN US FOR A CELEBRATION!!! I would like to invite all of you to join me at this year’s OAFP Annual Scientific Assembly located in the beautiful Renaissance Tulsa Hotel and Convention Center on June 14-17. The conference will be filled with educational opportunities commencing at 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 14 th with the lecture series entitled “Getting Paid for Doing the Right Things: How to Get Paid for Preventive Medicine”. This will be followed by the Family Welcome Reception in the Exhibit Hall. Friday’s sessions begin with a continental breakfast followed by several clinically relevant topics of great importance to the practicing family physician. While we are attending the symposium our loved ones will be attending an array of activities including a spouse’s visit to the Stock Pot Gourmet Kitchen & Supply Pantry while the Children will enjoy bowling, Bounce-U and a visit to the Oklahoma Aquarium. The evening culminates with the ever so popular family dinner at Incredible Pizza. Saturday kicks off with the Harl and Bettye Stokes Fellowship Prayer Breakfast which is succeeded by another fabulous array of lectures. Our families will enjoy this day with a beading work shop, massages, and visits to the Tulsa Zoo and Laser Quest. The President’s Reception & Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm. On Sunday the morning begins with the Bingo Brunch. This year the SAM Group Learning Sessions will be on Sunday at the OU-Tulsa Schusterman Center beginning at 8:00 am with Hypertension and at 1:00 pm with Childhood Illness. Spouses and the older children will enjoy a chef demonstration luncheon at the Stock Pot Gourmet Kitchen & Supply Pantry, personal chair massages, a beading workshop and more! Saturday evening will find us in the company of friends, both old and new, as new officers are inducted and those individuals who have made a significant contribution to family medicine are recognized. Later the children will join us for live music, dessert and dancing! Children’s Program OAFP Camp for Kids staffed by our Choice CME Partner, Cornerstone Hospice! Infants and children up to 4 years of age will enjoy fun and games at the Renaissance Hotel on Friday and Saturday. Children 5 – 15 years of age will enjoy two fun filled days of activities including Laser Quest, Bowling, Bounce-U, movies and more. Friday night’s All Family Fun Night is always a big hit with the ever popular “Incredible Pizza”! On Saturday night the children will complete their day of fun by joining their parents for live music, dessert and dancing at the President’s Dinner. On Sunday morning join us for Bingo and our Family Fun Farewell Brunch.
