As a testament to
the initial
successes, EPoD
now runs research
and policy
partnerships in 13
countries, including
India, Pakistan,
Indonesia, and
Saudi Arabia,
around important
issues such as
public health,
education, labor,
and finance, among
others. So far,
“EPoD’s cyclical
template has
proven successful
in countries where
researchers have
deep, existing
networks.“
While the results of the
research remain to be
seen, EPoD’s remit has
expanded to include the
training of government
agents and civil servants
to build capacity
towards implementing
solutions organically.
This will allow them to
better understand their
own policy challenges
and to take fuller
advantage of the data
available to make smart
decisions.
Holistic solutions such
as these should be
worked into developing
governmental practices,
whilst building capacity
at the same time.
