Good evening everyone and welcome
to the Branch Bros Stadium.
In July 2015 I was appointed Manager
of the midweek U18s which plays in the
Thurlow Nunn League which is a very
competitive and respected league.
My aim for the season was to see what
players we had, what the players were
capable of achieving, what style of
football we were going to play and to
achieve a respectable position in this
league.
My first steps were to arrange a meeting
with all the players, first and second year
players. Then quickly getting to work
by arranging pre-season training. From
what I could see, the club had some
very talented players displaying great
technical ability and understanding of
the game.
Myself and the coaching staff have
adapted the formation and tactics in
order to put in place a creative fast
flowing pace and attractive football.
With many hard training sessions the
lads started displaying exactly what we
set out to do, by winning 8 of our 12
matches and drawing 1. Since these great
results we have also beaten academy
league team Northampton Town 4-2 on
penalties taking us into the semi finals
of the David’s Joyce Cup against tonight’s
notable opponents in Peterborough
United.
I truly believe with all the hard work
we have all put in preparing us for our
biggest game yet at the club, the lads
stand a great chance of victory.
Our vision for next season is to play and
involve all the new players which we have
recruited through the season making a
total number of 21 players, all of which
will be mainly 1st years. This in addition
with the PNS Scholarship being launched
it’s very exciting times ahead for both the
lads and club as a whole.
I would also like to take this opportunity
to thank all parents, players and friends
at Peterborough Northern Star FC for
giving me this great opportunity in
managing and coaching some fantastic
players.
Immense credit also has to be given to
my assistants Richard Knighton & Ryan
Jones as I’m blessed with good ones. We
are a team and they put in a lot of time,
making sure the lads are prepared. They
are loyal and great football people, who
also care about the club.
This has been a great journey for me on
my coaching career and long may it last
for us all.
