Las Vegas is a very popular place
for singers and musical acts to call
home.
Some are here for years, others
move in and out of town. I’ve found
that the ones who move out, always
seem to come back at some point.
After all, this is the entertainment
capital of the world!
I want to tell you about a great
performer who is now making her
home in Arizona, but still has Las Vegas
on her radar screen. Her name is
Marley Taylor. If you’re a local, I’m
sure her name is familiar to you.
She is a very talented and beautiful
Singer/Songwriter. Marley was the
other half of the popular singing
duo called Zowie Bowie.
They performed for many
years in Las Vegas. Her journey
in show business has been
both rewarding and exciting!
She was born in Pittsburgh, and at
age 10, her family moved to Houston
Texas. At this early age she was
always looking for a stage to perform
on. At the ripe old age of 12 she began
singing as well as writing and recording songs
professionally.
She wrote for Sony publishing and appeared
as a regular on the successful TV show
“Riders in The Sky” on the Nashville Network.
Like most entertainers, Marley had her idols
that she adored. She was influenced by Olivia
Newton John, Dolly Parton, The Judds, Shania
Twain and Trisha Yearwood.
Marley joined Zowie Bowie (Chris Phillips)
in Scottsdale Arizona, and began their duo career.
Together they became the hottest singing
team in the southwest.
They performed weekly in some of the most
prestigious nightclubs in Arizona. After catching
the attention of the “Big Wigs” at Station
Casinos, they had the chance to take their
show to Las Vegas. This proved to be a golden
opportunity!
They became the highest paid lounge act in
the history of Las Vegas. How many artists can
boast about that?
Zowie Bowie were voted “Best of Las Vegas”
year after year. With this kind of success, more
doors opened for Marley.
She performed on the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon,
and on every local television and radio
show in Las Vegas. Marley even hosted a live
game show on the strip called “Name That
Tune.”
Marley graced the covers of magazines and
billboards, including international French
fashion magazine Jalouse. She became their
cover girl and feature story. Marley also modeled
for Vince Neil Aviation.
She now co-writes all of her own songs with
her husband bass player Chris DeHerrera.

music. I’ve had the pleasure of listening to
her songs when she was a guest on our Radio
Show - Listening to The Vegas Voice (heard every
Monday from 10-11am on KSHP 1400AM).
The music and songs are great. This girl
can sing anything! Marley’s journey continues
as she keeps moving forward with her career.
