About 25,000 ~ 30,000 movies are produced
each year, and about 600 ~ 700 movies are
played in theaters and released in DVDs.
However, the issue of unauthorized disc to disc
copying and/or DVD ripping is becoming more
serious each year. Therefore, the need for

Educational industry is growing faster than ever
before, and many contents are now sold in DVD
Video format. At the same time, these educational
DVDs are illegally copied and distributed to
end-users. By preventing such unauthorized
copies being sold to potential customers, the
content providers can expand the customer
base and obviously increase overall sales.

produce unlimited replicas. However, only Settec’s authorized facilities can produce replicas
using the master DLT or the stamper of Alpha-DVD.
Alpha-DVD can be produced without a�ecting the standard DVD production process.
Alpha-DVD does not require users to install any programs in their PC and runs like a normal
DVD unless the user attempts to breach the protection.
Test Disc in DVD+R format is provided to the clients before the mass production of Alpha-DVD.
The clients can use the Test Disc to review and con�rm that the �nalized Alpha-DVD has
satisfactory protection level and every component is processed as requested.
The compatibility and protection level can be customized to meet each customer’s
speci�c needs.
Alpha-DVD is supported in a wide range of operating systems, such as Windows 2000, XP, Vista,
including 64 bit, and most DVD players available in the market.
More than 220 million Alpha-Disc produced for more than 1,314 businesses from 2002 to 2008.
