Poetry The Rann By Anjali Barot Kutch is a district in Gujarat. Its name means something that intermittently becomes wet and dry. The Rann in Kutch is famous for its marshy salt flats that become snow white after the shallow water dries up and the monsoon rains are over. The Kutch tradition of embroidery began as a hobby amongst the women who would embroider an entire outfit for their daughters after the harvest and thus gather enough garments for her marriage.
