Everybody loves miracles
and since the beginning
of this year we
have been seeing God
work hundreds upon
hundreds of them in the
HSI outreaches across the world and in
the meetings locally. When asked why
this sudden spurt in signs and wonders,
HSI founder and director Aneel Aranha
said it is because of the increased understanding
of what Jesus has accomplished
in our lives through his death
and resurrection. The “new life” that we
profess to believe in is something that
is very true in every sense of the word
and if we start declaring the things that
come with this new life—redemption,
salvation, restoration, blessings, healing,
victorious living, holiness, purity and
much else—then we begin to actualize
them in our lives. Let us all confidently
declare the wonderful things that Jesus
has achieved for us and live life abundantly
just as he said we would.

WHEN GOD CALLS,
ANSWER!

Thousands of people all around the
world are seeking to find, know and
experience the purpose of their lives.
Some want to know what best they
can do to make their life fulfilling,
while some others who realize and
live their kingship with God—are
yearning to know their call. God’s
children choose to discern their
‘calling’ – purpose in life. In James
1:5 it is written “If any of you lacks
wisdom, let him ask God, who gives
generously to all without reproach.”
Wisdom is the key to discern God’s
will in one’s life.
Another important aspect of discerning
one’s calling/vocation in life
is to have a heart and mind that is
willing to explore. Cooperation with
God’s grace will do the rest. One common
challenge or rather shortcoming
in discerning vocations is that we fail
to see in and around our own circumstances.
We look for answers or for
God’s voice everywhere, but seldom
in the very present circumstances of
our lives. Jesus entered into the very
‘now’ of people’s lives, spoke to them
in the midst of their day-to-day realities
and called them. Now those who
said yes to His call did not spare time
in doing so. By grace,
they let their hearts
and minds follow
the call to experience
the possibilities and
in the end they bore
fruit greater than
what they could imagine.
Peter and Andrew were
fishermen, and Jesus entered
in the very center
of their lives and called
them to be ‘fishers’
of men. The same
He did with James
and John. Jesus
met Matthew just as
he was – a tax collector. Jesus wanted
him to experience God (Himself)
in his very own house, and
then at his call of ‘follow me’
– Matthew left everything
and followed him. It surely
is not easy by mere human
intellect or emotions. God’s
grace is the supernatural
link to embark on the journey
of discernment and decode
his will in one’s life as
he is a God of unthinkable,
unspeakable and immeasurable
omniscience.
When the rich young
man asked the ‘Good Teacher’
what he must do to inherit
eternal life, Jesus acknowledges
that the man
lived his life following the
commandments but yet
there was one thing that
he had to do. Jesus did not
mince words in letting him
know what that one thing
was. Jesus said, “Go and sell
all your possessions and
give the money to the poor,
and you will have treasures
in heaven. Then come, follow
me (Mark 10:21)”.
You see how Jesus spoke to him in
a language that the ‘rich man’ was accustomed
to all his life? The language
of possessions, wealth and treasure –
but only now it had a paradigm shift
in meaning. So what did the rich
young man do? Scripture says, his
face fell, and he went away sad, for he
had many possessions.
When Jesus calls, he expects us to
respond and not procrastinate. That’s
because when He calls, he is also
mindful of our weaknesses, commitments,
attachments, etc, that make it
impossible for us to follow Him. This
is why he gives us grace, and longs for
us to cooperate with that grace at the
earliest or rather immediately. Failing
which, such grace may not occur
again.

CALLED TO BE BETTER
AVERELL MENEZES
In this day of constant lawsuits and incessant demand
for legal rights, overcoming evil with good has
become very hard. When someone hurts us deeply,
intentionally or otherwise, we find it very hard to
forgive them. However in Romans 12:31 Paul tells us:
“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with
good”. Clearly, forgiveness is not something we just
extend verbally, but also something that needs to be
reflected in our attitude and actions.
When we do not forgive someone, we carry
a heavy load of bitterness on our shoulders, and
exacting revenge on someone else by our actions
does not do anybody any good. Moreover, repaying
someone with evil hurts us just as much as it
hurts our enemy, and many of us suffer for years
emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and even physically.
Forgiveness, as testimonies (many recorded in these
issues of Pathfinder LITE) show how people are
blessed when they find it in their hearts to forgive
those who have hurt them.
Forgiveness may even make our enemies feel
ashamed and lead them to change their ways. A wise
man once said that the best way to destroy an enemy
is by making him our friend, and this is something
that forgiveness helps to achieve.
As Christians, our response should always be like
that of Christ. Jesus said, “If someone slaps you on
one cheek, turn to them the other also” (Luke 6:29).
When people hurt us, we must answer with love.
When our enemies hurt us, they should only see
gentleness come out of us. If we succumb to shallow
methods of justice, how are we better than our own
enemies.
Goa, India, has been on HSI’s mission map ever since
this organization began its global outreaches twelve
years ago, with several retreats conducted in this
sun-kissed paradise over the years. More recently,
HSI’s Manjula Pieris and Marchita Fernandes made
a visit to Siolim from April 17-23. After Holy Mass and
time spent in adoration before the Blessed Sacrament,
counseling sessions that were backed up with
constant intercession saw dozens of people blessed
in a variety of ways. Testimonies from grateful people
can be found further in this issue. A bonus blessing
for Team HSI was a meeting with Bishop Allwyn
Baretto from Sindhudurg. The Sindhudurg diocese
will host Aneel Aranha in June 2016.

BABY BLESSINGS!
I am delighted to testify that I am expecting
a baby. Having experienced
loss before, I was living in fear. However,
thanks to the prayers of the HSI
community and the powerful anointing

without medical intervention

HEALING FROM SINUS HEADACHE
I have had a recurring headache since
my childhood and had reconciled myself
to it. However, during the song,
“The Blessed Lamb of God” at the HSI
meeting in Sharjah, I felt the pain taken
away by my sweet Jesus. I praise
God for this special healing. What a
mighty and awesome God we have!

When the preacher said, “There are
some of you who have not slept well
for day, but you will sleep peacefully
tonight,” I claimed that for myself because
I have been having frequent
nightmares lately. Since then I have
been sleeping like a baby. Thank you
Jesus for your rest and restoration.

HEALED OF KIDNEY STONE
I had a very painful stone in my kidneys,
but the morning after the HSI
prayer session at St. Michael’s Church,
Sharjah (April 11) I realized the stone
had been vaporized. I thank God for
his mercy and his mighty blessings
upon me and my family. He is an awesome
God and we will praise his name
forever!

HEALED FROM NECK PAIN
I was having a terrible pain in my neck
that didn’t go despite taking pain killers.
But God is so good, after the HSI
prayer meeting in Jebel Ali on April 20,
the pain totally disappeared and I was
feeling so good. My husband was
healed as well of a perforated ear
drum. Praise and thanks be to God.

HEALED OF CYSTS
At the HSI prayer meeting in Jebel Ali
on March 21, the preacher declared
that several women were healed and
asked them to get themselves checked
before they continued with medication.
When I did my tests I discovered
that I no longer had the cysts in my
ovaries that I had for three years! I thank Jesus
for healing me.

For years I have been struggling to rid
myself of a habit but to little avail until
I met an HSI counselor. After a session
with him I started praying from a
book he gave me titled, ‘A guide to
Personal Prayer’ and after a couple of
months I realized my habit was gone.
Jesus came to set people free and by the power
of his Spirit I have been set free.

For the past two weeks my heart and
mind have felt like a big jumble, but
at the HSI meeting on April 27, I felt
such tremendous peace as I have never
experienced before. At the session I
also experienced total healing of a
neck pain that I have had for a very
long time. God be praised!

HEALED OF SEVERE SKIN IRRITATION
For the past two weeks I have been
suffering from a very bad skin irritation
and was so troubled by it I was
looking to consult with a specialist.
Another doctor got to me first. During
the prayer session at HSI on August 21,
I was completely healed. Thank you
Jesus for your mercy and grace.

HEALED OF SEVERE BACK ISSUES
I have had serious issues with my back,
with disc prolapse, disc bulging and
slip disc. On 20th April 2016 after the
HSI prayer meeting had ended I was
getting in my car when I felt the vertebrae
of my lower back creak. I was so
frightened that something had gone
wrong with my back I kept waking up through the
night to see if something bad had happened.
However, I realized that something good had happened:
God had healed me totally of my back
pain. Praise be to God!

HEALED OF BACK PAIN AND SPIRITUAL DRYNESS
For the past few months, I have had a
dryness in my spiritual life that has affected
my health, work, mood and relationships.
At the HSI meeting on
April 27, I felt this bondage break. I
experienced a new spring of living waters.
While the preacher was preaching
I felt a sense of calm descend over me. I was
also unwell from the past 3 days and had pain in
my lower back. When we were called to play the
song of anointing, I bent to pick my guitar, and
discovered the pain was gone.

I have been feeling very low due to
health issues, but after the HSI prayer
meeting on April 27 in Jebel Ali I felt a
wonderful anointing and after a
peaceful night’s sleep I woke up feeling

until the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

I have been having a pain in the left
side of my head and tiredness in my
left eye with the result I couldn’t concentrate
on my work. After the HSI
prayer meeting on April 27, however, I
was totally healed. I praise God and
thank Him for being so merciful to me.

HEALED OF A BROKEN HEART
At the HSI prayer meeting at Jebel Ali
on April 27, I experienced a most
amazing thing—a healing of heart. Before
I attended the session, I prayed to
be healed from the pain I was going
through as a result of a broken relationship.
When the preacher said
there was healing of relationships, I felt a wonderful
feeling of peace sweep through me and I
have realized, since, that I have been healed.

I underwent a session of inner healing that
filled me with peace, happiness and strength.
Following the session there was drastic change
in my family members as well. Where there was
hatred, jealousy, unforgiveness and selfishness,
there is now a blessing of peace, forgiveness and
understanding. I was also suffering from severe
pain in my heel that has been totally healed.
ANGELA FERNANDES
The inner-healing session has helped me open
painful areas of my life that I had buried deep
and received healing in them. The knowledge that
God loves me unconditionally has brought me to
repentance and I know I have been forgiven. As a
side effect of the inner healing, a frozen shoulder I
have had for 17 years has been healed.

Through the inner healing prayers, I have been set
free of bondages that held me captive for over 25
years. I now feel free.

I was a very angry man. However after undergoing
inner healing and deliverance there has been a
lot of change in my behavior, with my anger now
totally in control.

My inner healing session was a Spirit filled session
that brought about much healing to the hurts and
anger in my life. Following the session, my son,
who has been trying to pursue further studies in an
Art college rather unsuccessfully, called to inform
me that he has cleared his 1st round.

The inner-healing session brought me great peace
within. I also had back pain which has been healed
after the prayers. I have been suffering from
severe migraine attacks for more than 35 years,
and I believe that God has touched and healed me
of this problem as well.

For the past 5 days I was getting headaches and no
proper sleep. After the prayers conducted in our
house, I started feeling fresh, happy and full of
energy and I had a good nights sleep.

I have been unable to walk on my own since a few
months, due to severe pain in the back. However
after my session, I got up from the chair and
walked down from the 1st floor by myself. I am
a beautician by profession and due to my illness I
could not go and work at my parlor, but the same
evening, I was able to return to work - healed.

HEALED OF PAIN AND CANCEROUS GROWTHS
A few months ago, I started with very
severe pain in my thighs and doctors
couldn’t help. I also had lumps in my
breast that were very painful. At the
HSI prayer meeting in Jebel Ali on April
20, I felt a tremendous anointing and
realized that all the pain had gone and
I had been completely healed. I give all praise
and glory to God.

HEALED OF GLANDULAR PROBLEMS
My brother had multiple glands in his
throat that the doctors suspected
were cancerous. I immediately asked
Team HSI for prayers. I couldn’t attend
the prayer meeting in Sharjah but
while I was receiving another brother
from the airport, I got a message from
an HSI member that during the session the preacher
said one person from Mumbai was healed of
cancer. I got goosebumps when I received the
message, because at exactly the same time I received
a message from my sister in law in Mumbai
that the biopsy results were negative.

HEALED OF SORE EYES
I’ve been having a sore eye for more
than a month and was concerned. A
few days ago both eyes were inflamed.
I wasn’t able to sleep well too for a
week. After the prayer session I woke
up feeling refreshed after sleeping
straight through the night for 11 hours
and my eyes completely healed and normal. The
previous redness, irritation and blur are things of
the past. I give all praise and glory to God.

I have been suffering from back pain
for some time and the pain has been
so severe I have had difficulty in walking
and sleeping. I had heard about
the miracles taking place in HSI, and
although skeptical, decided to come
and check out what was happening. To
my great surprise and delight I found myself totally
healed on my pain. All glory to God.

HEALED OF SEVERE BACK PAIN
I have been feeling low and depressed
for the longest time, questioning my
faith and doubting if everything was
real, until after an HSI prayer session
in Jebel Ali I suddenly felt so light and
happy as my life seemed to take on
special meaning. I felt the reality of
God and was so grateful that he was working in
me to take me where he wanted me to be.
Get the job of
your dreams
The prospect of looking for a job or changing one is an
extremely daunting proposition to most people. We
often feels that we need to be extremely lucky to secure a
position where our qualifications and experience would
be put to best use and where we would get job satisfaction.
However, this need not be the case if a person is well

The Lord’s Name is to be
Praised!
Many breakthroughs and miracles that the early
church saw took place through the power released
in praising God. When we praise God we declare
his greatness and might and in these declarations
we are delivered from sickness, despair, and other
bondages.
There are three main aspects of God that we
need to praise: his word (In God, whose word I
praise, in the Lord, whose word I praise, in God I
trust; I am not afraid. —Psalm 56:10-11); his nature
(Let them praise your great and awesome name.
Holy is he! —Psalm 99:3); his works (Sing to him,
sing praises to him; tell of all his wonderful
works. —Psalm 105:2).
In her upcoming debut album, Hear Me,
O Lord, HSI worship leader Arlene Castelino
includes a song inspired by the book of Psalms.
