Gu<strong>in</strong>ea <strong>and</strong> beyond to the Fijian Isl<strong>and</strong>s. Little is known<br />

of their breed<strong>in</strong>g biology, behaviour <strong>and</strong> survival (Wells,<br />

2007).<br />

Currently, WBW is not protected under the Protection<br />

of Wildlife Act 1972 of Pen<strong>in</strong>sular <strong>Malaysia</strong>. Globally,<br />

this bird is listed as Least Concern with a strong aff<strong>in</strong>ity<br />

to paddy <strong>and</strong> coastal areas. Due to its restricted<br />

distribution <strong>in</strong> the pen<strong>in</strong>sula, this <strong>in</strong>sectivorous specialist<br />

may well serve as an <strong>in</strong>dicator for the ecosystem<br />

<strong>in</strong>tegrity of their habitat.<br />
