the famous backwaters, over white sandy beaches<br />
★...climate in Jan/Feb is summer: around 30-35°C<br />
★...vegetation is powerful: green tea & coffee<br />
plantations, rice paddies and fertile soils for an<br />
abundance of fruits, vegetable, herbs and spices.<br />

Roundtrip<br />
★ Saturday 19th: meeting in Cochin (Kochi). Transfer from airport<br />
to our Guesthouse in midst of the old city. Getting to know each<br />
others, introduction about India & <strong>Kerala</strong>, our week Program...<br />
★ Sunday 20th: acclimatising time and visit of Cochin, beautiful<br />
collonial town with great religious places, like the St. Francis Church<br />
(Vasco da Gama), the oldest Church in India, the Juws` part of<br />
Cochi with the Synagogue...<br />
★ Monday 21st & Tuesday 22nd: drive with our own private bus to<br />
Madurai (Tamil Nadu) through the lively villages of <strong>Kerala</strong>. The<br />
exceptional Meenakshi Temple is part of the more than 2000 year<br />
old tradition: 14 towers of 50m high with estimated 33’000<br />
sculptures carvings of mystics Hinduism symbols. It was in the list of<br />
top 30 nominees of the "New Seven Wonders of the World"...<br />
★ Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th: drive up into the mountains<br />
through the luxurious nature of <strong>Kerala</strong>, to reach the Periyar<br />
National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary, a highly protected wild-life<br />
natural reserve, with many tigers, elephants & more than 200 types<br />
of birds! We will discover it through boat trip & jungle walk with<br />
experienced guide, and have our hotel inside the Park.<br />
★ Friday 25th: trip to the west coast, near the Ashram of the world<br />
renowned Saint “Amma”, and boat cruise on the Backwaters,<br />
crossing the famous natural lakes and canals of <strong>Kerala</strong> at sunset.<br />
Our bus then picks us up to reach our resort in Varkala, for the<br />
following week program...
