Jacksonville Jazz Festival 2016 Program

The Jacksonville Jazz Festival is a weekend celebration of Jazz music held in Jacksonville, Florida. Coinciding with Memorial Day weekend, the event has been dubbed by "experts" as "one of the 20 best in the nation", according to the Florida Times-Union.[1] Admission is free with the exception of VIP areas, and events and performances take place throughout downtown venues. This year's headliners were Snarky Puppy, Jon Batiste and Stay Human, KEM, Dr. John, McCoy Tyner, the Yellowjacksts and many more

Jack Melvin <strong>2016</strong><br />

For over fifteen years Jack Melvin, Jr. has been an<br />

integral part of the <strong>Jacksonville</strong> <strong>Jazz</strong> <strong>Festival</strong>. As<br />

owner of Keyboard Connections, Jack is a dedicated<br />

educator, sharing his passion and love of music by<br />

teaching over 100 students a week. Jack’s support<br />

of the <strong>Jacksonville</strong> <strong>Jazz</strong> <strong>Festival</strong> began with the<br />

Great American Piano Competition, now known<br />

as the world renowned <strong>Jacksonville</strong> <strong>Jazz</strong> Piano<br />

Competition. He has been an advocate for the Youth<br />

<strong>Jazz</strong> Competition, formerly known as the Generation<br />

Next Youth Talent Competition. Jack’s support of the<br />

event, dedication to the community, passion for <strong>Jazz</strong><br />

and pianos have played a large role in making the<br />

event possible.<br />
