Waking UP …
(10/11/2011)
“A Five-Chapter Biography of Human Life …
First, we walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
We fall in … We are lost … We feel hopeless. It isn’t our fault. It takes
forever for us to find a way out.
Next, we walk down the same street. There is another deep hole in the
sidewalk. We pretend we don’t see it – and fall in again. We can’t believe
we’re stuck in the same place. But it still isn’t our fault. And it still takes a
very long time to get out.
Then, we walk down the same street again, and there is yet another
deep hole in the sidewalk. His time we see it – but we still fall in … We
recognize that this ‘falling in’ is a habit … Our eyes are opened … We know
where we are … We accept responsibility for falling I …. We climb out
immediately.
Thereafter, we walk down the same street – again – and there is that
deep hole in the sidewalk again. This time, we see it and walk around it.
Finally, we simply choose to walk down another street.”
