Master & Disciple …<br />

“The master moves <strong>to</strong>wards <strong>the</strong> disciple, and <strong>the</strong> disciple moves <strong>to</strong>wards<br />
<strong>the</strong> master. Sooner or later <strong>the</strong>y are going <strong>to</strong> meet … It is inevitable. And yet <strong>the</strong>ir<br />
meeting is not of <strong>the</strong> body; and <strong>the</strong>ir meeting is not of <strong>the</strong> mind. Their meeting is<br />
of <strong>the</strong> very Soul, as if suddenly you were <strong>to</strong> bring two lamps close <strong>to</strong> each o<strong>the</strong>r,<br />
where <strong>the</strong> lamps remain separate but <strong>the</strong>ir flames meld and become one.<br />
Between two bodies, when <strong>the</strong> Soul is one, it is very difficult <strong>to</strong> say that it<br />
is a mere relationship. It is not, and yet <strong>the</strong>re is no o<strong>the</strong>r word that comes close<br />
enough … Language is simply <strong>to</strong>o weak <strong>to</strong> describe it. The closest we can come<br />
is when we say that, when those two finally come <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r — <strong>the</strong>y both know <strong>the</strong><br />
o<strong>the</strong>r as <strong>the</strong> Self … They each primarily feel for <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r; and in this way <strong>the</strong>y<br />
literally become ONE.”<br />
