The <strong>Astra</strong>’s German engineering delivers a smooth, stable ride and responsive<br />
handling. If you like to push your car hard through corners, Watt’s linkage rear<br />
suspension is a given. 1 And if you want to switch ride settings from one trip to<br />
the next, optional FlexRide adaptive chassis technology adjusts ride settings<br />
to suit your driving style.<br />

1. FlexRide technology. With just a touch of the FlexRide<br />
button, you can change the whole driving dynamics of your<br />
<strong>Astra</strong> – from ‘Sport’ to ‘Tour’ and back again. Using Continuous<br />
Damping Control (CDC) technology, FlexRide automatically<br />
adjusts the dampers to give you excellent road holding. In ‘Tour’<br />
mode, it chooses the best settings for gentler, straight-line<br />
driving. Switch to ‘Sport’ mode and it instantly sharpens the response<br />
of the dampers, steering, accelerator and automatic transmission<br />
(if fitted). It also changes the colour of the ambient instrument<br />
lighting – from a cool white to dynamic red.<br />
2. Superior Watt’s linkage rear suspension. For maximum grip<br />
and a comfortable ride on curvy roads, your <strong>Astra</strong> 1 comes with<br />
a Watt’s linkage rear suspension system. Watt’s linkage stabilises<br />
the rear axle by reducing unwanted lateral movement.<br />
