page 8 of 9 World’s Accommodation By Nick Here’s a small selection of hotels, hostels, and apartments where you could stay during Worlds in London, <strong>2016</strong>. All prices were correct when I checked - but these do change frequently, so may not reflect the current price. The price per night is the average price for a twin room for two people, unless stated differently. The average price is calculated from a four night stay, checking in the Thursday 1st September, and checking out Monday 5th September. Remember, Worlds is over THREE days, the 2nd September to the 4th September. The first hotel on the list will be at the venue, the Ibis Styles London Southwark Rose. Obviously, this is the closest to the venue on the list! Ibis Styles London Southwark Rose website here We do have a group rate, which is £170 per night for four nights, for a twin or double room. It isn’t a great savings, to be frank, as you can currently book the same period for £177 per night. Includes breakfast and complimentary wi-fi. Next up is the Novotel London City South. It is literally next door to the Southwark Rose, and managed by the same team. Novotel London City South website here The cost per night for a twin or double room comes in around £230 per night, and that doesn’t include breakfast. The London Southwark Premiere Inn Hotel is a short walk (5 or 10 minutes) from the venue. London Southwark Premiere Inn Hotel website here It’s £180 per night for a twin room, and does not include breakfast, but does have wi-fi. If you’re looking for something cheaper, then the LSE Bankside House may be for you. It’s a student accommodation, available for rent outside of college term times. It’s a ten minute walk from the venue. LSE Bankside House website here A twin room with en-suite is £79 per night (£93 including breakfast) A triple room with en-suite is £106 per night (£125 including breakfast) A quad room with en-suite is £119 per night (£140 with breakfast) A single room with en-suite is £60 per night (£71 including breakfast) A single room with shared bathroom is £38 per night (£45 with breakfast) They’re pretty good prices, and the quad room in particular works out to less than £30 per person per night. I’m not sure I’d recommend breakfast for those prices in a student accommodation, and the website says not all rooms will offer breakfast anyway. Free wi-fi is available. If you are planning on staying a few weeks, note that these rooms are only available up till mid- September. I would recommend checking out the website, as they have quite a few other student rooms available all around London, so if you are staying it may be an idea to stay elsewhere. page 9 of 9 The Marlin Apartments, Empire Square, might suit families or larger groups after a bit more luxury than a student accommodation or hostel can offer. Marlin Apartments website here They do studio, 1 or 2 bed apartments, from 1 to 6 persons. The website isn’t the best, but a 1 bed apartment for 4 people would cost around £160 per night, so not a bad price for a bit more luxury. Each room has a kitchen, so no breakfast is offered, and I cannot find any information on wi-fi. It’s just over a ten minute walk from the venue. There are several hostels in the area, such as Friendship House or Dover Castle (note – it’s not in Dover, nor is it a castle). They have beds from around £20 per night. The Mad Hatter hotel is supposed to be a simply splendid place to stay! Close to the venue, this hotel boasts luxurious rooms, and I have heard good things about it. The Mad Hatter website here Prices starting from around £152 per night, free wi-fi, breakfast not included in price. These places to stay are just a smattering of what is available in the area. If none of the above suit you, then a search of Southwark or London Bridge will be close to the venue. And, if you have any specific requirements, just contact me and I’ll try and help.
