Priority Questions Participants were asked to identify their top 10 questions and vote on them during the meeting. The following are the results of that voting. A split in the voting emerged at the top 10 questions outlined below with the priority cluster to which they were assigned. A total of 60 participants out of approximately 90 voted on these questions (~66%). Details of the voting can be found in Appendix D. How do we address power inequities and vested interests in health decisions? – Intersectoral policy approaches to health care 2. In the wake of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s final report, how can the population health leadership mainstream a decolonizing agenda, and in doing so, redefine the core premise of population health in Canada to address this injustice? – Toward equitable and ethical solutions (what is valued?) 3. How can we better apply systems thinking to the multiple systems e.g. agri-food, financial, trade, which are major determinants of population health status, to help us better leverage public health interventions – Remaining Catalytic Questions 4. What is the evidence on the effects of intersectoral policy approaches (involving policies beyond the health sector) on population health, and how can this evidence be incorporated into countries’ policy development processes? – Intersectoral policy approaches to health care 5. What are the social, environmental and population health ramifications of key international trade agreements (e.g. North American Free Trade Agreement, Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, Trans-Pacific Partnership), including their investor-state dispute settlement mechanisms relative to other initiatives (risk factor prevention, sovereignty over environmental and public health policies, and primacy of public health over corporate objectives)? – Economic, political, corporate and trade influences on health 6.
