Architect Arakawa <strong>and</strong> Madeline Gins believe that<br />
your house should keep you young by challenging<br />
you every step of the way. So they designed the<br />
Livespan Extending Villa, that “makes people use their<br />
bodies in unexpected ways to maintain equilibrium,<br />
<strong>and</strong> that will stimulate their immune systems.”<br />
The church of Santa Barbara in Llanera, Asturias,<br />
was ab<strong>and</strong>oned for years <strong>and</strong> crumbling from<br />
neglect. With help from online fundraising <strong>and</strong> Red<br />
Bull, the church was salvaged <strong>and</strong> turned into a<br />
public skate park. As if having a skate park inside a<br />
beautiful ab<strong>and</strong>oned church wasn’t enough, artist<br />
Okuda San Miguel was commissioned to cover the<br />
walls <strong>and</strong> vaulted ceilings with his unique br<strong>and</strong> of<br />
colorful geometric figures.<br />
