Located next to the iconic new Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, The 

Thief overlooks the canals of Tjuvholmen and the Oslofjord, with most of its 

119 bespoke rooms offering brilliant waterfront views. Timeless elegance with 

clear references to contemporary art and design is the common denominator 

for THIEF FURNISHING. International and Norwegian designers such as

Hotel zum Löwen | Duderstadt | Austria 

Businessman-turned-art-collector Hans Georg Näder reflects his deep 

connection to his hometown in every element of Hotel zum Löwen, from 

the artworks from his private collection that grace the hotel’s walls to the 

handpicked wine-list. Polaroids of big stars Andy Warhol used as the basis 

for his strident portraits decorate the walls in the restaurant and fireplace 

room.

The Qvest | Cologne | Germany 

The Qvest is former historic city archive located on a 

quiet square in the shadow of the Basilica of St. Gereon. 

he hotel links history and modernity by combining neo- 

Gothic architecture with a curated collection of furniture, 

contemporary art, and photography. Guests can even take 

home a “souvenir” from an exclusive shop selling the hotel’s 

carefully curated furniture and design objects.

Das Stue 

Originally built in the 1930’s, Das Stue’s diplomatic legacy 

is evident in the heritage building’s stately architecture and 

modernist façade, designed by German architect Johann 

Emil Schaudt (1871-1957) and inspired by Danish classicism. 

Das Stue was renovated to invoke a calming ambience, with 

open spaces and contemporary minimalist design. Patricia 

Urquiola artistically directed and designed all public spaces 

and fluidly integrated shared spaces such as the lobby, 

cocktail bar and restaurants.

Cosmo Hotel | Berlin | Germany 

Cosmo Hotel Berlin Mitte offers both a sanctuary and starting point for 

cosmopolitan lifestyle-addicts who visit the German capital to soak up its 

rich cultural life, but also want a comfortable and invigorating place to take 

a load off at the end of the day. Warm colours of spice are highlighted by 

silver accents and elegant, high-end materials set the note. Floor-to-ceiling 

windows unveil the panorama of Berlin’s urban setting.

masterfully restored by acclaimed designer Jean-Phillipe Nuel. With an

technology, Le Cinq Codet is the ideal setting for an unforgettable getaway 

experience.

Rooms Hotel Kazbegi | 

Stepantsminda | Georgia 

With peaks reaching a formidable 5,000 metres, the dramatic Caucasus 

Mountain Range delivers a spectacular backdrop for this retreat – the first 

of its kind – in northern Georgia. Comprising 156 guestrooms – each with 

breathtaking views – the warm structure of wood, glass and steel has been 

designed by young Tbilisi-based duo Nata Janberidze and Keti Toloraia.

25Hours Hotel Bikini | Berlin | Germany 

In the heart of Berlin’s City West district, wildlife and city life cohabitate 

resplendently within the shadows of the 25hours Hotel. Part of the Bikini 

Berlin redevelopment project, this historic building—an important example of 

post-war modernism—serves as an urban oasis for visitors and locals alike. 

Designer Werner Aisslinger and his team created a hotel world playing with 

the contrasts of nature and culture.

Ion Adventure Hotel | Selfoss | Iceland 

Fire and ice. Hot and cold. An abandoned inn turned luxury hotel. The 

building was acquired in 2011 and renovated with the assistance of Santa 

Monica-based design studio Minarc. ION Adventure Hotel is where modern 

design meets Iceland’s incomparable natural landscape. Guests can expect 

a mellow mix of concrete chic and earthy ambience, combined with the warm 

accents of locally salvaged driftwood and lava. The hotel has won several 

important awards for sustainable design.

Bergland Hotel | Sölden | Germany 

Wood, stone, felt, wool and linen are elegantly fashioned 

into a modern living space, creating natural surroundings, 

even indoors. The architecture of the first design hotel of the 

region unites both traditional and modern, and the natural 

world is reflected in the hotel’s interior. One of the key 

scenes for the latest James bond Epic “SPECTRE” was shot 

in Sölden!

Vander Urbani | 

Ljubljana | Slovenia 

Vander urbani resort is four old town houses in a terrace 

nestling under Castle Hill on the banks of the River Ljubljanica. 

From the outside, they look like the other townhouses in 

the old city, but they have been intricately re-designed with 

a contemporary passion. Beneath the old bourgeois house 

facades lie sixteen rooms whose design epitomises perfect 

living comfort. The interior design follows a continuous line 

which runs almost imperceptibly from house to house.

Located in Sagres, Algarve, Memmo Baleeira Hotel is a resort overlooking the 

ocean. Characterized by its relaxing, contemporary atmosphere of design,

Almyra | Paphos | Greece 

Situated amidst eight acres of gardens in the 

coastal city of Paphos, Almyra’s enviable location 

is only the beginning. A pure, crisp white structure 

sits within earshot of the Mediterranean’s crashing 

waves. Almyra’s sleek accommodation showcases 

contemporary luxury paired with sea or garden views. 

Parisian designer Joelle Pleot used natural materials, 

glass, and Carrara marble to create a calming effect 

in the rooms.

Marim , Algarve | Portugal 

Hotel is located on the tip of southernmost Portugal where an expansive 

pine forest meets the deep blue of the Atlantic! The resort sits in harmony 

with its preserved natural environment in the untouched eastern part of the 

Algarve. Natural materials and clean lines abound to create interiors both 

contemporary and multifarious, based on the concept of a “market lobby” 

designed by a Portuguese - Pureza Magalhães.

In the municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Pedras Salgadas Spa & Nature 

park shows you how innovative sustainable architecture can wrap itself 

around a centuries old park. The work of the architect Luís Rebelo Andrade 

is modern in both its composition and its interior decoration. Eco Houses and 

Tree Houses were built using the most cutting-edge sustainable technology.

Perched on the banks of the Minho Estuary in Camhina, a historic Portuguese 

port town on the Spanish border, Hotel Design & Wine exudes subtle 

sensuality. This ecologically sustainable, high-tech hideaway blends art, 

technology, and local heritage with its contemporary art gallery, ultramodern 

amenities, and distinctive regional wines.

Furnas Boutique Hotel | 

Azores | Portugal 

Furnas Boutique Hotel is located in Furnas, São Miguel Island, Azores. The 

natural heritage of São Miguel is reflected in the materials chosen for the 

project, such as basalt stones on the exterior walls and interior flooring. 

Gigantic nature photographs and wallpapers animate the hotel’s public 

spaces as well as guestrooms. Using a color palette of green, brown, and 

white designer Nini Andrade Silva has created soothing interiors that contrast 

with the hotel’s contemporary and vintage furniture pieces.

Farol Design Hotel | Cascais | Portugal 

Nestled between the powdered sands of Guincho Beach and 

the picturesque fishing village of Cascais, this luxurious seaside 

retreat on the Portuguese Riviera was once the royal hideaway of 

the Kings and Queens of Europe in the 1950s. The 33 guestrooms 

are “dressed” by acclaimed Portuguese fashion designers, and 

sumptuous accents punctuate the ever-so-cool black and white 

interiors, hinting at the building’s regal history.

In the center of the beautiful and historic Portuguese city of Porto, declared 

a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hotel Teatro is an elegant innovation set in 

shades of bronze and gold. It was built on the site where the revered 1859 

Teatro Baquet once stood. The Reception represents a box office where 

each guest receives a ticket to access their room.

The Grande Amore Hotel and Spa is a luxury boutique hotel 

located in the historic city center of Florence. Featuring elegant 

fusion interior design, this newly inaugurated boutique hotel 

offers luxurious accommodation, great services and facilities 

in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. A close attention to detail 

came into play when designing the spaces, where all of the 

furniture, fabrics and furnishings have been carefully chosen 

and exclusively produced by Italian artisans. Overarching 

color palate, which introduces pops of color to an otherwise 

neutral palate, provides an unmistakable touch of modern 

delicacy

11 Mirrors | Kiev | Ukraine 

Kiev’s first and only design hotel. Located in the capital’s 

dynamic core, mere steps away from the National Opera 

House, 11 Mirrors showcases reflective surfaces such as 

mirrored decorations and panoramic windows. 11 Mirrors 

Hotel takes inspiration from contemporary interior design 

with a profound understanding of worldwide trends and 

new concepts. Smart elegance without any heavy elements 

and imperial exaggerations sets up a creative environment 

and encourages interaction and inspiration.

Estalagem da Ponta do Sol | 

Ponta do Sol | Portugal 

This stark white getaway is all simplicity, framing the raw magnificence 

of its cliff top setting, high above the Portuguese village of Ponta do Sol. 

Walkways let visitors explore the meticulously manicured grounds and drink 

in the endless blue of the breathtaking ocean views.

The Naka Phuket | Phuket | Thailand 

Hidden in an ancient valley on the western edge of Phuket, The Naka 

Phuket is Duangrit Bunnag’s most daring hotel to date, with 94 glass-built 

villas cantilevering out from the mountainside. The resort is only accessible 

via an isolated mountain road. Designed by internationally acclaimed Thai 

architect Duangrit Bunnag, the simplistic steel framed matchbox form villas, 

with floor to ceiling wraparound walls of glass, cantilevering out from the 

mountainside, and with bedrooms hanging between 6ft and 20ft above the 

ground below guests enjoy a sense of floating mid-air.

Mira Moon | Hong Kong | China 

Located in the heart of bustling Causeway Bay, Mira Moon is an awardwinning 

design boutique hotel reinterpreting Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival 

mythology through its interiors. Updating this tale to suit a contemporary 

setting, the characters from the story are represented throughout the 

spaces and references to traditional Chinese culture are expressed through 

modern furnishings with antique Chinese fabrics and prints, peony flower 

wall details, tailored carpets, digitally composed Bisazza tile graphics and a 

‘lucky charm’ feature wall in the lobby. Magnificent interiors were created by 

Marcel Wanders in cooperation with YOO studio.

Laluna | St. George | Grenada 

Nestled into a private hillside on one of Grenada’s most 

secluded beaches, Laluna is an escape to a private paradise. 

While Laluna’s 16 thatched-roof cottages are rich in West 

Indian details, the open-air structures embrace an Asian 

design theme. Indonesian teak wood furniture is perfectly 

contrasted by a rainbow of bold colors and warm tones. For 

Laluna’s stunning cottages, the design team has gone for 

a West Indian take on “concrete chic” with dappled amber, 

mauve and russet walls, built-in counters and couches, and 

swirling floor designs covered by simple straw rugs.

The Beach Samui | Koh Samui | Thailand 

Nestled on the southern edge of Koh Samui, overlooking a marine park that’s 

speckled with humpbacked tropical islands, there’s a place where turquoise 

waves lap at the soft white shoreline. The 21st-century design subtly pays 

homage to Thai culture by using sustainable materials and traditional arts, 

such as the ornately crafted red lacquer doors and the intricately carved 

wooden screens. The sophisticated interior design incorporates an airy open 

plan living area with floor to ceiling windows opening on to dramatic sea 

views. A concertina wall can be folded back so you can wake up to the sight 

of the sea and islands from the comfort of your luxurious bed.

Indigo Pearl | Nai Yang | Thailand 

One doesn’t often associate industrial design with an unspoiled beach. But 

in Thailand, at all suites and villas Indigo Pearl resort, nestled on the lush Nai 

Yang beach on the north-west coast of Phuket, metal is alluringly mixed with 

traditional Thai décor and cutting-edge art.

Casa de la Flora | Phang Nga | Thailand 

An example of urban design quietly nestled among an 

oasis of natural serenity, Casa de La Flora sits in Khao Lak, 

Thailand, on the shore of the Andaman Sea. With its linear 

planes evocative of a Le Corbusier edifice, Casa de La Flora 

is a vision of Brutalism. Concrete is omnipresent throughout; 

its dominance handled with precision and care. Natural 

materials such as teakwood temper the minimalist interiors 

with an infusion of warmth, augmented by monochromatic 

schemes and lighting designed by APLD.

Humble House | Taipei | Taiwan 

Located on the top floors of a “Diamond-rated Green Building” 

in the heart of Xinyi—the capital’s vibrant shopping, commerce, 

and entertainment district— Humble House Taipei merges 

design, green living, and art into one breathtaking property 

overlooking the city’s rooftops. Designed by Hirsch Bedner 

Associates Pte. Ltd. Design Consultants (HBA), a worldrenowned 

hospitality design company, the hotel presents a 

simple and relaxing style.

Nest Hotel | Incheon | South Korea 

Nest hotel was designed with cozy nuances and a natural motif 

so that guests can stay at a home away from home. With a focus 

on being a hideout for travelers, the hotel’s architecture centers 

on the nature outside. The high-ceilinged lobby is an impressive 

showcase for the hotel’s bold style—exposed concrete, waffle 

ceiling, and glass walls form the perfect stage for the beauty 

outside.

Wanderlust | Little India | Singapore 

Combining a sense of artistic whimsy with cutting-edge design, the 

Wanderlust in Singapore’s Little India was created with adventurous 

travelers in mind. : ‘Industrial Glam’ is a juxtaposition of the hotel’s 

Little India setting and contemporary design. Stealing attention right 

at the door is a curved feature wall plastered with a meandering 

montage of vintage print ads that reflect the neighbourhood’s culture.

Glad Hotel Yeouido | Seoul | Korea 

The hotel’s facade, with its unusual brick pattern, 

immediately stands out from its neighbors’ modernist glass 

buildings. Hotel re-designed the interior by simulating the 

actual movements of their guests, and boldly did away with 

unnecessary elements from their viewpoint. Thanks to this 

hotel’s tone is courteous yet casual and engaging.

Klapsons Boutique Hotel | Singapore 

Not many hotels ensconce their check-in counter in a five-meter stainless 

steel orb or invite guests to lounge upon a seductive Moraine sofa by Zaha 

Hadid in their lobby. As guests step through the glass doors of klapsons, 

the combination of five-star luxury and a distinctive sensitivity toward 

contemporary design immediately makes itself apparent.

New Majestic Hotel | Singapore 

A revamped historic hotel on a Chinatown street in Singapore 

once notorious for housing wealthy men’s mistresses, the 

New Majestic, with its shophouse façade, blends perfectly 

with the neighborhood. 

History is blended with modernity, international design with 

local inspiration – presenting a cutting-edge product of our 

time. From the open concept period-inspired lobby with 

restored vintage Compton fans to the dramatic pool with 

glass inserts floating above the restaurant, to the selection of 

period colonial furniture from Singapore in the 1920s-1960s, 

New Majestic Hotel is a stunning and eclectic mix of heritage 

chic.

Town, Penang | Malaysia 

A UNESCO World Heritage site city, George Town strives to strike a 

balance between past and future, preserving its heritage buildings 

as it continues to develop into a vital center of industry and tourism. 

Macalister Mansion is designed around the idea of an old English 

mansion. Each space is designed to provide hospitality of an actual 

home.

Kimamaya Boutique Hotel | 

Hokkaido | Japan 

Kimamaya, ‘be yourself’ in Japanese, is an exclusive luxury 

lodge with just a handful of rooms. Nine of them to be 

precise. It is also one of the most laid back definitions 

of luxury you’ll ever find. Rooms created by designer 

Andrew Bell offer charm, comfort and a distinctly 

personal, cosy experience. Most of all, they capture the 

essence of the alpine atmosphere of Hokkaido with a 

cosmopolitan touch thrown in.

Park Hotel | Tokyo | Japan 

The luxury Park Hotel Tokyo is ideally situated in Shiodome, a 

flourishing new center of business and culture. Each room features 

color coordinated curtains and bedcovers. Trees and plants placed 

on the obsidian and teak lobby floor reflect the Japanese cultural 

tradition of living in harmony with nature. The hotel has dedicated 

“Artist” rooms for foreign guests who are interested in Japanese 

aesthetics and arts. The SUMO room for example features works by 

Hriyoyuki Kimura who visits sumo stables everyday to capture the 

wrestlers training.

Hotel Da Vinci | Paris | France 

Inspired by the great Renaissance artist, Hôtel Da Vinci truly has a great many 

surprises in store! The journey back to the Renaissance starts in the lift. The glass 

panel is a window through which you can admire a series of drawings taken 

from the various studies executed by Leonardo da Vinci. The hotel’s 24 rooms 

are named after the leading figures of the Quattrocento. These include Botticelli, 

Raffaello, Michelangelo and Catherine de’ Medici. The invitingly comfortable rooms 

are decorated in a style that takes in a great many references, such as a highly 

typical caqueteuse chair, or a dressing room with curved features, reminiscent of 

the wardrobes of the period. The relaxation area, situated on the lower ground 

floor, is arranged around a mosaic-lined pool that reproduces the colours used by 

Leonardo da Vinci to paint the Gioconda.

Designed by Eva Jiricina, Design Hotel Josef blends modernity with the 

rich and beautiful historical sites of the medieval Prague. Classy, functional

influences, including relaxed limestone floors. Baleri armchairs and Philippe 

Starck fittings in the bathrooms are a testament to Hotel Josef’s attention to 

quality detail. All have created a well-proportioned mix of design efficiency

Hyderabad’s proud heritage as a center for design and the production of 

precious stones and gems greatly influenced the hotel’s development. Socially 

responsible and paying back to the environment, The Park Hyderabad is 

certified as a green building. The breathtaking facade references jewelry 

settings and metal reminiscent of the Nizam’s legendary jewellery collection, 

evokes passion of the era gone-by. With a jewel tuned palette and custom 

installations, lighting and furniture in the rooms and suites, all inspired by the 

legendary jewels of the Nizams, every guest would feel like royalty.

notions. The rooms and suites at The Park Hotel in Kolkata India bring you 

plush, elegant decor and modern facilities, reflecting the rich history of the 

art and architecture of Kolkata. Customized furnishing by Zeba showcases 

the wealth of textiles available in our country. With accents of the chakra 

spectrum, guests are sure to experience a calm, Zen-like feeling during

Anya Hotel | Gurgaon | India 

Meaning “different” in Sanskrit, Anya is the perfect name for this hotel, which presents 

worldly sophistication with a splash of Indian panache and contemporary cool in the 

soaring commercial hub of Gurgaon. Renowned architect Alfaz Miller was enlisted to 

create a unique kind of DNA for Anya’s façade— a structure that is crescent-shaped 

rather than linear. The rooms mix Italian marble, warm wooden floors, and accents of 

plush silk for a contemporary look with local influences. The open-plan space allows 

for the marbled bathrooms to be discreetly screened off. 

Rani pink, indigo blue, marigold orange, eggplant purple—all strong colors associated 

with Indian culture—are found on the bedspreads. Anya is also adorned with works 

by contemporary Indian masters such as Bose Krishnamachari and Chittrovanu 

Mazumdar, and commissioned work by Remen Chopra.

Black and mustard, rich cardinal reds, lavender, vanilla, washes 

of tea rose and a room that is white on white on white, offering style and

15 luxury rooms decorated with bright simplicity offer the essential elements

Built as a school in 1889, Washington School House has graduated to a new level of 

luxury. Twelve spectacular rooms/suites, historic living space with 16ft ceilings, roaring 

fire in a chic ski lounge, and a heated pool terraced in the hillside. The furnishings 

were curated into a collection of European antiques, vintage modern paintings, crystal 

chandeliers, silver flatware and serving pieces.

inside and out by traditional Cambodian housing design. Both 

exterior and interior have been designed, sculpted and furnished 

with the aim of creating an authentic yet luxurious Cambodian 

experience at Phum Baitang.

Alila | Jabal Akhdar | Oman 

Perched here 2,000 metres above sea level, Alila Jabal Akhdar 

overlooks a dramatic gorge, surrounded by awe-inspiring 

views of the Al Hajar Mountains. Inspired by ancient forts, 

traditional Omani construction techniques using local stones 

are combined with contemporary architecture. Within the 

stone exteriors, the resort’s unique expression of minimalist 

style is infused with warmth and colours that reflect the 

region’s ethnic influence. Authentic elements of Omani 

design decorate the interiors, such as copper ornaments, 

and handmade pottery from Bahla, for which the town is 

famed.

Hexagonal thatched-roof buildings, volcanic Jamaican coastline, and sparkling

Robinson Crusoe fantasy. Rockhouse is a stunning and unique hotel combining natural 

beauty, strong architectural design, local materials and craftsmanship. The design 

principles behind Rockhouse evolve directly from the natural surroundings. Emphasis 

is placed on simple and strong forms and the hotel is designed to be a harmonious and 

respectful insertion into its jungle-like environment. Choice of materials was also critical 

– local timber and thatch were chosen to merge with the fully-grown garden. The use 

of stone was inspired by the surrounding volcanic rock landscape.

Austria 

The combination of a rich, cosmopolitan atmosphere with multifaceted flair and 

1930s-style Viennese charm make Hotel LAMÉE one of the most impressive boutique 

hotels in Wien. The building is an example of the Modernism style of the years 1934/35 

and was fully renovated in 2012 with loving attention to detail as an exceptional 

boutique hotel in the style of Hedy Lamarr, whom the property was named after. A 

honey coloured paint adorns the walls and gives the room depth and sophistication. 

Soft light and polished wooden veneers with classy tassels and brass profiles create 

a comfortable and glamorous atmosphere. The architect office BEHF designed the 

furnishings and details in the style of glamorous Hollywood interior designs – without 

denying modern culture or distinctively cosmopolitan Vienna.

Dutch designer Piet Boon is famous for the incredible sophistication in his villa and 

furniture designs. The Bonaire villas are made of natural materials with subdued 

shades, private gardens, lofty ceilings, and dark stone floors to solidify Boon’s desired 

feeling for luxury with a cool, barefoot style. Occasional bursts of brightness – from 

yellow scatter cushions to shocking pink mosquito nets – add just the right amount 

of Caribbean spice. Like the traditional cunucu houses on the island, the villas are 

designed to benefit from the wind. This ensures that it is cooled in a natural way. All nine 

villas have a different physical layout and pieces of specially commissioned artwork,

minds and distinguished guests for nearly a century. The Hotel is a modern take on a

a rotating collection of 20th-century Artwork, including masterpieces from Andy Warhol 

and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The Hotel’s 21st-century facelift from Oscar-nominated 

director and artist Julian Schnabel focused on a distinct Renaissance-revival concept 

incorporating the vivid colors of the era with bold hues on the walls, upholstery and 

carpets. The furniture was specially imported from markets around the world. The result

Stretching across two iconic heritage-listed buildings – The Clare Hotel pub and the Carlton 

& United Breweries Administration Building – the hotel has been constructed with obsessive

Rooms on the first three levels provide an unpretentious yet luxurious, semi-industrial feel 

and showcase the heritage aspects of the buildings with exposed brick, concrete, and timber 

paneling. Rooms on the top level are loft style with a more contemporary feel and include a

Built in 1938, it operated as a soft goods warehouse, until it was purchased in 

the late 80s by visionary architects, Denton Corker Marshall, and converted into

was undertaken by Melbourne-based design practice, Hachem. With interiors 

inspired by sweets and desserts, guests are taken on a tasteful, Willy Wonkaesque

Le Pigalle | Paris | France 

Mythical and imposing, languid and frenetic, Pigalle is a neon light in the Parisian night. 

The neighbourhood has always attracted thugs and artists, musicians and adventurers. 

Therefore hotel’s history was shaped by the cultural mix that swirls on the southern 

slopes of Montmartre. All the rooms have a strong Parisian identity. They are decorated 

in the style of the area, known as La Nouvelle Athènes for its neoclassical architecture, 

which inspired artists and poets in the late nineteenth century. And they convey a 

specific image of Pigalle: historic, modern, decadent, multicultural, musical. They are 

simple and comfortable, full of domestic touches, more like a friend’s bedroom than a 

cookie-cutter hotel room. Each is a collection of objects, souvenirs, music, books and 

second-hand furniture, with a personality all of its own.

The hotel was built in 1854 and has witnessed the dramatic evolution 

of this neighborhood which includes the Haut-Marais, Beaubourg and 

the Saint Martin Canal. The decor of the Hotel Providence personifies 

a typical Parisian atmosphere: a cosy fire place, architectural details, 

Pointe de Hongrie wooden floors, and marble mosaics. Each room 

is individually decorated with designer fabric and tastefully chosen

perfect bachelor pads. Floors laid with wide boards of dark wood, covered with

and local integration. Distinct features such as French pavement in the entrance,

with 1920s flair and a hint of modernity. Interiors are appointed with handmade

The hotel’s architecture features two exposed external walls, giving 

each room a special light according to its direction and floor. Inspired 

by Hotel Bel Ami’s literary background as a 19th-century printworks,

Turkey 

Housed in the historic 1890s Zenovitch Apartment, the hotel opened in April 2010. 

Renovated by Turkish design collaborator - international award-winning Autoban 

Design firm - the building retains its original shuttered façade, marble staircase and 

ceramic tiled reception. In stark contrast to the subtle wall decorations, the hotel’s 

floors are a study in swirling crests and hexagons, which also appear on certain 

ceilings, handrails and screens. Brass-studded leather sofas in the roof lounge 

hug a sizzling fireplace carved from solid stone, tucked beneath exposed wooden 

beams.

Brand new hotel set within a beautiful Victorian mansion. Although playfully 

decorated, comfort is considered at every turn. Beds are at least a 5ft king-size 

and showers are wonderfully powerful. Although the original features in these 

Victorian bedrooms take precedent, luxurious bathrooms are distinctly modern. 

The Galloping Major restaurant is situated in what was once the original owner’s 

ballroom. Huge windows open the room out to the park, bringing the light in and 

highlighting amazing original features.

Over 300 years ago DAS TRIEST was a staging post on the horse-drawn mail coach 

route between Vienna and Trieste. The challenge of DAS TRIEST was to transform 

the dated hotel “Stadt Triest” into a unique boutique hotel, characterised by stylish 

contemporary design and subtle luxury. Today it is an outstanding example of 

how to successfully combine a modern look with a traditional building. The old 

vaulted stables have become salons, suites and conference rooms equipped with 

state-of-the-art technology while featuring the distinctive flair of DAS TRIEST.

H15 Boutique Hotel | Warsaw | Poland 

These brand new apartments have just been opened & are situated in a XIX 

century building where the past meets the present. The architect preserved the 

neoclassical socialist façade while also cleverly drawing one’s attention to the 

hotel’s black-and-white checkered patio, which not only serves as a lobby but as a 

venue for important cultural events. Award-winning designer Mariola Tomczak used 

calm color tones, natural oak floors, and glass walls between the bedroom and the 

bath areas to brilliantly open up the hotel’s interior space. Original works by Polish 

photographer and fine artist Rita Zimmerman give each suite its own individual feel, 

while the building’s historical character is emphasized through the preservation of 

its high ceilings.

in with the rustic farmhouses and sweet-smelling lavender fields of rural Provence. 

Inside, designer Christophe Pillet has emphasized swooping modern contours and 

broad open spaces. Glass panes scatter the light that streams in through black 

slatted doors, illuminating open spaces, while understated yet ultra-comfortable 

sofas and armchairs designed by Pillet and French upholstery pioneers Neology 

provide somewhere to enjoy the simplicity of the design. Everything you see – 

from the solid wooden tables to the black metal balustrades – has been built with 

quality in mind.

mix of antique, contemporary and ethnic accents – keep the aesthetic fresh and 

elegantly eccentric. Pretty detailing such as colorful glass beads on cushions and
