<strong>Biopesticides</strong> <strong>Market</strong><br />
Pesticides are ubiquitous, toxic and synthetic agents. It mainly kills or prevents pests<br />
present on plants and animals. The other functions of pesticides are crop protection,<br />
prevention of vector-borne diseases and preservation of food and materials. As of April<br />
2016, there are around 299 registered biopesticides active ingredients and 1401 active<br />
biopesticides product registrations. <strong>Biopesticides</strong> target the organisms affecting the<br />
growth as compared to the conventional pesticides which are harmful for birds and<br />
other animals.<br />
<strong>Biopesticides</strong> can be applied using different formulations. They are mainly used as liquid<br />
solution or in dry form. The liquid solution can be directly sprayed on plants or in the<br />
soil whereas dry form can be thrown over the field. However, this formulation type<br />
solely depends on the crop type. <strong>Biopesticides</strong> are derived from the natural resources<br />
and can be mainly classified into three major groups such as biochemical pesticides,<br />
microbial pesticides and Plant-Incorporated-Protectants (PIPs) pesticides. Microbial<br />
pesticides are extensively used pesticides owing to their high effectiveness.
