The 2015 Buildmacex and Interior.
Glad to have another opportunity to
relate to great minds of the architecture
profession. It’s my joy to be part of what
brings you dose of inspiration within
the shores of Nigeria and around the
world through the AE digest medium.
A lot has happened since our last
edition, one of which is the induction
of new NIA president Arc. Tonye Oliver
Braide. I would like to congratulate him
on the new role of taking Architecture in
Nigeria to greater heights and promise
our readers an exclusive interview with
him in our upcoming edition. Another,
is on a sad note, the demise of an Icon of
the world of architecture, Zaha Hadid,
who happened to be our cover story in
our maiden edition. It is a great loss to
the architecture body and we pray her
legacy moves on.
In this edition, gracing our cover
is one of our Nigerian architect doing
exploits, Arc. Eromosele Anetor, he draws
us into his world and enlightens on
the architecture profession and practice.
Also in this edition are informative
articles that widens our scope in
branding and building integrity.
Filled with designs around the world
to inspire the reader more as architecture
is global, ideas and global trends should
be a vehicle we all don’t miss out on.
Thank you and enjoy reading
ATLANTIC EXHIBITION
MD CHAT
In an effort to leverage on a suitable marketing tools for the
betterment and a secure future of the construction industry
of Nigeria, in which Atlantic Exhibition have been highly
commended by the government and various experts of the
industry, AE Digest Musa Momoh had a brief chat with Mr
Ayodeji Olugbade, the Managing Director of Atlantic Exhibition on
the third day of the exclusive Buildmacex and Interiors Exhibition. Mr
Ayodeji who has taken this mantle of developments to other countries
across Africa in this exclusive interview said that his vast interest in the
construction industry is for the purpose of growth and infrastructural
development. Enjoy the rest of the interview excerpt!
Tell us about yourself?
My name is Ayodeji Olugbade,
the Managing Director of
Atlantic Exhibition. We are the
organizer of the Buildmacex
and Interiors 2015 that’s just
concluded today. This is the
second edition and I am glad that
we were able to run a successful
event, this time we are looking at
what will be the people's interest
and we thank God for giving us
the grace for the success of the
event.
You have a growing interest in
construction industry, what is
the drive?
Well, because I believe in
growth, we need to grow
because Nigeria is developing,
that is why building is very
important. You know when
you build; you keep building
because infrastructure is very
important to development, and
if you look at the Western world
infrastructural developments
actually determines the growth
in that country where old
buildings are! Even old buildings
need maintenance, so no mater
renovation we do to old building
it is still under development. That
is why I believe in growth, that
once we build we are growing.
In the aspect of Nigeria and
Turkey relationship staged
by this prestigious event, in
which way has it developed the
economy of both countries?
Well it has, because when we
look from the previous events we
have been doing, this has brought
a lot of investors to Nigeria from
Turkey and if you go to Abuja,
Kano and even Lagos here there
are lot of local manufacturers
that are from Turkey and once
they are established here,
unemployment will be taken care
of, infrastructure will be there,
and it will also empower small
businesses and help the growth
of the country. Nigeria is also an
open market to Turkey investors
to come in and by trading on the
soil of Nigeria will enhance the
economy of Turkey as well, so
those are the areas that we are
trying to work out with.
What is your plan to integrate
the Nigerian engineering
students related to construction
into this annual event?
We want the engineering
students related to construction
to come and see the new systems
and technologies that is being
use in this century because
INTERVIEW
if you go to some schools in
Nigeria you will be surprise that
some of them are still using old
materials that they are used to
and they impacts them on the
students. The students need to
be exposed to newer systems and
technologies that is emerging and
growing vastly, besides, it’s not
also about the students alone, it’s
also about the business men in
the industry to come and learn
more on the challenges and
ideas of the business, that is why
we came up with the seminar
sections so that those things will
be impacted into them, questions
and interaction will take place
and the professionals from the
practices like those presidents of
various associations will be able
to also share their experiences.
You are bringing Turkish people
to Nigeria, what are you doing
to take Nigerians to Turkey
Thank you! The only thing we
need in that area is the support of
government; the Turkish people
are able to come to Nigeria just
One Thousand Museum appears as a continuous piece of
contemporary sculpture from the podium to the crown. The sensuous
curves of its white exoskeleton create a dynamic contrast with the
crystalline façade and define the unique shapes of magnificent private
terraces.
VISION
As Miami has transformed into a truly global city in recent years, it
has become a prime location for the development of a world-class
residential skyscraper that will meet the expectations of clientele with
sophisticated taste. Beyond a prominent location distinguished by
unparalleled views and visibility, such a project demands an ambitious
creative vision, one that offers private ownership of an iconic piece of
architecture. One Thousand Museum is a celebration of excellence and
innovation. It is a bold physical statement about the essence of Miami
through the eyes of Dame Zaha Hadid.
One Thousand Museum
‘One thousand museum’ in Miami. Designed by zaha hadid, the residential project takes its name from
its location opposite Museum Park, and offers views across Biscayne Bay towards Miami Beach. The
62-storey, 83-unit condominium tower is envisioned as ‘a continuous piece of contemporary sculpture’,
and boasts a wealth of luxury facilities such as: an aquatic center, a private helipad, and even custom
scenting — ‘inspired by Zaha Hadid’s architectural vision’.
‘One thousand museum’ is set to complete in 2017
Views
Located on a coveted property overlooking the green landscape and
contemporary architecture of Miami’s Museum Park, One Thousand
plans capture this mesmerizing panorama, and multiple oversized
terraces extend the experience outward into the fresh air and tropical
sunlight. Views are even more masterful within the sculptural glass
crown of One Thousand Museum, where the double-height Aquatic
Center and Sky Lounge offer dramatic venues for fitness, relaxation,
