PROJECTS
UNDER THE
ANNUAL
FUND
Endowment Fund
This long term fund is an important, permanent
source of funding that will take care of the financial
needs of current and future generations of DUT
students. This legacy fund will mainly disburse
bursaries, and act as a reserve against rising student
needs.
1. One Meal Once a Day -
Food Security 20%
2. Give a Tiger - Alumni
bursary Fund 30%
3. Endowment - 50%
Bursary Fund
The bursary fund augments the National Student
Financial Aid Scheme’s allocation to DUT. The focus
is on underprivileged but academically high-potential
students, which fall between the cracks,
often referred to as the “Missing Middle”. This may
be due to insufficient funds or inadequacies in the
national allocations.
Food Security (One-Meal-Once-a-
Day)
This initiative is an intervention that responds to an
immediate basic need. It is the University’s feeding
scheme that seeks to help underprivileged students
across DUT campuses. The scheme provides these
students with at least one meal every day, via the
swipe card system at the campus cafeteria. This
way, the student’s dignity is maintained, while ensuring
efficiency and transparency in managing the
scheme.
